22 - Bye / Breakdown 🔞

    When Mia woke up, Antonio was awake.

    "Oh my god, what time is it?" Mia sat up and tossed her hair out of her face when she caught a glance of the dark night sky from the window.

    "9 PM ish."

    "It's 10!" Mia climbed out of the bed. "That's past visiting hours. You didn't wake me up dummy!"

    "Because you'd go away." Antonio pouted.

    He didn't want Mia to leave him, even though he spent the entire day watching her snooze. He hadn't slept at all but at least he was cozy.

    "I'm sorry." Mia brushed his hair back with her hand and kissed his forehead. "I haven't done anything today. I haven't even eaten anything yet."

    "I'll try and visit you every day, I promise! I'll just see Serena before I leave." Mia rushed to fix her hair and straighten out her clothes before leaving. "Bye!"

    When she went to Serena's room she wasn't there.

    "She was rushed to the emergency room." A nurse told her.

    Mia ran down to the room the nurse told her. When she went there, the doctors had emptied out of the room.

    "What-?" This was the only word that Mia could let out as she tried to speak to one of the doctors.

    "I'm sorry ma'am, the patient passed away." The doctor replied with a conscientious tone.

    Emily screamed, throwing her samuraizer across the room. The samuraizer got lodged into the wall.

    She was frozen when she got the call from Mia. But after they hung up, her emotions caught up to reality.

    The rangers were all in the living room with her.

    They watched Emily as she was quick to tease Mia when she first picked up the call. They witnessed how she became distraught seconds after Mia delivered the awful news.

    Emily grabbed her hair at the roots with both of her hands and started pulling it ruthlessly.

    Mike quickly ran to her, trying to ease her hands off of her head.

    "Get the fuck off me!" Emily let go of her hair pushed him away. "You don't care about me!"

    "You don't care about my problems! And you broke with me!"  Emily screamed at him. She couldn't stand his face anymore, so she kicked him in the gut.

    Mike fell back onto the couch, holding the inflicted area. He was shocked by her words and felt terrible that he couldn't comfort her.

    Emily fell to the floor and punched it relentlessly. The skin on her knuckles started to bust open.

    "Emily, please stop." Jayden caught her tightened fist before she could throw another punch and knelt beside her. "If you don't, I'll have to restrict you. You're hurting yourself."

    Emily yanked her fist out of Jayden's grip and swung at him right across the face.

    Jayden's eyes widened in dismay. His face was left tilted towards the right and his cheek was stained by the blood on Emily's fist.

    Emily looked at his face, shocked by the blood. She thought that she bruised him.

    Emily was about to grab her hair again, causing Jayden to quickly respond by catching her wrists.

    "I'm sorry." he whispered as he forced her arms down from behind her.

    Mike and Kevin watched. Mike had begun to tear up as they both witnessed Emily break down.

    Emily tried to resist Jayden's grasp but couldn't top his strength. She couldn't even kick him since he was out of her foot range.

    Instead, Emily cried out loudly. Her bawling wrinkled and reddened her face to the point where she was unrecognizable.

    Emily was the sweetest. Emily brought youth and joy to everyone. She was strong-willed yet innocent. Through a lot of hard work, she became a talented warrior. Without her endearing spirit, the rangers wouldn't be as joyous as a group.

    "Serena!" Emily shrieked as tears streamed down her eyes. She rocked back and forward, heaving heavily between every sob.

    Serena was her only family. Serena was the one who took care of her and taught her so much.

    Why did Serena have to die after suffering for so long? Why Emily of all people lose their sister?

    Mike decided to try and approach her as she was crying to console her, but she quickly attempted to kick him in her rampage.

    Emily now wasn't so sweet. Emily had lost her will and spirit. She had even traded away innocence for a rickety and physical relationship. She had forgotten her own strength.

    Over time, Emily stopped trying to fight against Jayden. Her loud and aching cries began to die down and turn into low, mournful sobs.

    Deeming the time appropriate, Jayden, still holding her wrists, wrapped his arms around Emily from behind. He then gently pulled her back towards his chest.

    Emily settled down enough to appreciate and need Jayden's affection.

    She cried and cried for a long time. When Mia came home she was still crying. She cried until she became exhausted and fell asleep.

    When Emily woke up, it was bright and early. She didn't remember going to bed, but there she was.

    When she looked over to her side, she saw Mia sleeping over the comforters, resting her head on her arm.

    When she looked down, she saw that all of the boys made camp on her floor and slept there for the night.

    Mike's leg was straddling Jayden while Kevin's hand was on Jayden's face. Jayden slept neatly as usual and always fell victim to sloppy nappers who'd torment him in his sleep.

    Emily giggled at the sight as she began to cry once again. Her loss had sunken in, but she also felt very fortunate to have everyone coming together to look out for her.

    It seemed like the first time that everyone had truly gotten together since everything had changed.
