2 - Truths / Secrets 🔺

"I um.." Mike wasn't sure what to say at all.

"Mia, don't tell Emily. Let me tell her myself." Mike asked Mia.

"When will you tell her?" Mia crossed her arms.

Mia was another really caring for all of the rangers. Since Gi had been gone, she had been stepping up to look after everyone's wellbeing.

She didn't want Emily to be taken advantage of.

Before Mike could explain anything further, a mooger alert blared.

Kevin ran towards Emily's room, meeting Mia at the door.

"We need to head out now. The medics will be here soon to take care of them." As Kevin ran out, Mia and Mike reluctantly followed him.

Jayden and Emily haven't been in battle for 2 days.

Jayden's body was weak from losing blood and being poisoned.

He found it difficult to rest after being separated from the battlefield. It made him worried and even paranoid at times.

Emily had been unconscious for a day when she first came home. She had been regaining her strength through resting and training.

On the other hand, the other 3 rangers were making up for their absence. There was no choice but to fight as hard as they could even though it grew stressful.

"You know, we need really Jayden and Emily." Mike told Kevin. He didn't like all of the pressure he had been under recently.

"We can't push them. Their weakness will show on the battlefield." Kevin was more worried about them going out too early and getting hurt all over again.

Mia stood by Jayden's door and peered into his room to check on him.

Jayden's eyes were closed. He laid shirtless with his chest wrapped by a bandage. The blanket covered him down from his belly button, revealing his abs.

She entered the room and sat on the side of his bed.

To her surprise, Jayden opened his eyes.

"Did I wake you?" Mia worried.

"I was already awake." Jayden sat up, covering up his body with his blanket.

"You don't have to sit up." Mia insisted. "How are you feeling?"

"Not as much pain as before. I'll be up and at it soon."

"Don't worry about fighting. Just worry about your health." Mia felt like she was talking to a brick wall with Jayden's sense of duty.

"Are you hungry?" Mia prepared to leave.

But as Mia was about to get up and go, Jayden's eyes turned red. He put his hand on the back of Mia's head and brought her lips to his.

He snuck his arm around her waist and pulled her towards him so that she would lean on his body.

Through his sudden kiss, Mia's eyes were wide open. She ended up pushing herself off of him.

"Jayden I-"

"Mia," Jayden held her hand and placed it on his wound. His eyes gleamed with a piercing redness. "Don't speak."

His serious voice frightened Mia. The red in his eyes masked the soft blue, signifying that he was not himself.
