Chapter 57: Dealing with The Aftermath

"It's nice to see you again, Damien," Zerris said while sitting in a chair surrounded by the black void.

"Zerris...Why am I here?" I asked, somewhat confused by what's happening.

The last thing I remember was fighting Zoe. Then she decided to bail on our fight, and I passed out afterward. And that's how I ended up here.

"You overloaded your body, boy," Another familiar voice spoke to me, though I felt a little annoyed by it.

I turned around to see Kenos, not in her beast form but in her human one. Something seemed off about her though...

"Kenos, did you get bigger?" It seems that Kenos grew up a little bit while she was sleeping.

"You finally noticed, huh?" Kenos acted smug. "It's true, I've finally achieved my real form."

"Real form...?"

She looked a lot more mature the last time I saw her. Her first appearance was a little older than me, maybe 16 to 18 years old. Now though, she seems to be in her mid-twenties or a little younger.

The only way I could tell she got older was that she was a couple inches taller than me than before. That and...her breasts were a little bigger than last time.

"Oh, see something you like?" Kenos, likely noticing my gaze, decided to tease me about where I was looking.

"Not really..." I quickly turned away and denied her statement. "Anyway, how come you got b-I mean, older?"

"I believe it was because of you, Damien," Zerris told me.

"How was it my doing?" I asked.

"It's because you got stronger," Kenos explained. "After killing all those holy soldiers and my little power boost, your stats and level went up."

"Seriously...?" To confirm their explanation, I checked my status to see if it was true. When I did, I nearly gasped in surprise.

"Good work, Damien!" Zerris clapped her hands with joy. "Just a little more and you'll be able to use [Absolute Domain]!"

"Right...wait, what about Amy and the others?" I quickly changed the subject on important matters. "Are they alright?"
