After leaving the village, we started heading north to where Simon told us where the Trolls were. We wanted to end this quest quick, but the base wasn't that far from the village, so we simply walked there.
While we strolled through the forest, we decided to talk about a few things on the way. Mostly about the trolls.
"What do you think this red troll is like?" Vlad asked.
"To be honest, anything other than another Korgan," I joked, though I kind of wanted this troll to not be like Korgan.
Korgan was the undead Orc that sought out revenge against me. He was also affiliated with Emilia, who brought him back to life to go kill me.
That Orc was a troublesome and annoying bastard. He was extremely prideful, and he barely gave up on anything, especially getting revenge on me.
I have to admit that his persistence was impressive. He fought till the very end to end my life. Sadly, I'm still here and he's now my prisoner.
Let's hope this red troll doesn't turn out to be Korgan #2. That would only make the fight unbearable.
"That village chief seemed pretty nice, don't you think?" Vlad changed the topic to the chief from the village.
"Yeah, though I'm not sure how I feel about that."
I guess it's because of previous experience but seeing Simon act so nice to us felt a little off. I don't mean he was faking it; I just mean I'm not used to such courtesy.
The same thing happened with the guild master. He was really polite with me and didn't even care about me being Zerris's Champion.
I guess there are some people that don't judge people by their looks, huh? With that thought in mind, I made sure to make the chief and the guild master friends of mine.
The more allies I have, the better the situation. I just hope I'm not being deceived, cause things won't end well if I am.
Anyway, after a little bit of walking, Vlad stopped us while sniffing the air. "I can smell the Trolls. We're getting closer."
You know, I don't want to sound rude, but Vlad kind of acted like one of those bloodhound dogs that sniff for their targets. It was kind of funny.
"Amy, try to see how many are there," I told her.
"No need," Vlad continued. "I can smell about thirty or more trolls nearby. We're close to their base."
I looked at Vlad with a hint of concern. He's usually not able to tell how many enemies there are by sniffing their blood. Not unless he's short on blood himself.
"Vlad," I began. "Are you feeling thirsty by any chance?"
When I asked him that question, he stiffened. He avoided eye contact when he answered me. "I-I'm fine. I don't need any blood."
"Well, you have the vials of blood I made you, right? Just use those."
To keep Vlad from losing control of his bloodthirst, I made vials filled with my blood to sate his thirst. If I remember correctly, he should have 3 or four vials with him now.
When I looked at Vlad after mentioning the vials, his face turned a little red, almost as if he was embarrassed. Don't tell me...
"Vlad, you didn't drink all the vials, did you?" I asked, prying for answers.
Vlad kept looking away from me. I took a glance at Amy who looked just as surprised as I was by the sudden turn of events.
"Vlad..." I pressured him.
