"Golems, destroy the intruder!" Caesar gave the order, and the golems started rushing towards me.

The two golems with the regular swords came toward me first. The one on the right swung its sword at my head, to which I blocked with Thana.

It's movements were pretty slow, but the power behind the attack was decent enough. Golems were more power and size than speed, so despite how slow it moved, it's attacks were what you should be worried about.

Thankfully, I didn't need to. Due to my stats, worrying about taking the golems attacks head-on wasn't necessary. However, I did have to act like getting attacked was straining me a bit.

As I clashed with the golem, I pretended to strain against its attack. After pushing the blade away, I jumped back and used a low-tier magic spell to attack it.

"[Ice Needles!]" Sharp icicles appeared before me and zoomed towards the golem.

The golem responded by blocking most of my attack with its sword. It managed to block a couple, but the rest made a direct hit. Sadly, the spell didn't do much to the golem, though that's what I was planning on.

"Hahahaha! It's useless, boy!" The mage laughed at me. "My golems were crafted with the finest materials and cores. You'd have to be an S-rank adventurer to defeat them."

Oh, is that all? Good thing I'm an SS-rank then. I wanted to tell him that, but I kept my mouth shut and kept playing along.

While golem #1 was busy with my spell, golem #2 with the sword attacked in its steed. It swung a couple of times at me, and I evaded them.

I wonder if I should let one of its attacks hit its mark. My equipment and stats were more than enough to protect me, and I can easily fake being injured with illusion magic and good acting.

While I was thinking about this, golem #2's attack actually got me. It was a slight graze, but hey, I wasn't about to miss the opportunity to screw with them.

I clutched onto my arm that got hit, used some illusion magic to make it look like I'm injured, and started my little act.

"Agh!" I pretendedly winced as I backed away from the golem.

"What's wrong, boy?" The bandit boss sneered. "Can't handle Caesar's golems? You've come so far yet you can't deal with them? A shame."

Yeah, yeah, keep it up, you bastard. The more confident you get, the better it'll be for me to crush that confidence.

I should keep up the act for a little longer. Just a little bit more before I got all out.

Suddenly, Golem #1 decided to join #2 and ganged up on me. #1 went for my leg while #2 went for my head.

Despite not being in actual danger, I changed Thana's form. "Shield Form!"

Suddenly, Thana's blade turned into a wicked-looking shield. The color scheme was all black with red plating. At the center of the shield was an emblem that resembled a rose with thorns; Thana's signature symbol from when she was Emily Rosethorn.

After blocking the golems attack, I backed away to collect my thoughts. I looked behind Golems #1 and #2 to see the last two just standing there.

They must be there as a last line of defense. Not like it'll matter in a few moments, but I wasn't going to point that out.

"Interesting. A sword that can change into a shield? You don't see many of those weapons." Caesar looked at Thana with great interest. It kind of pissed me off for some reason.
