Chapter 120: Let The War Begin

   "You know what you're doing, right?" Vlad asked me with a questioning look on his face.

"Not in the least, I'm afraid," I sighed as I sat down on the Throne that the Jade Emperors sit on.

"My Lord," The Tesso Head said while kneeling before me. "Our war preparations are almost complete."

"I see. That's good," I said calmly, though I felt a bit unnerved by what was happening.

In front of me were several of the current Heads of the Twelve Clans; The Tesso Head, the Wukong Head, The Mowang Head, The Kirin Head, and the Bajie Head.

They were currently kneeling before me as they gave me their reports regarding our military preparations for War. According to them, we're almost ready to head to battle.

"What about the status of the Demon Lords?" I asked. "Have they started moving yet or are they still preparing as well?"

"I can answer that, my lord," Out of nowhere, the Head of the Inugami Clan, Naofumi, appeared from the shadows and kneeled before answering.

This guy really knows how to make an entrance, huh?

"According to the spies I sent to investigate the status of the Demon Lords, they are still preparing for war, though they are almost done."

"Is there anything I need to know regarding their preparations?"

"Yes. It seems that the Demon Lords called upon their Four Generals; The Scorpion Demoness, The Python Demoness, The White Bone Spirit, and the Black Wind Demon."

...What the hell kind of names are those? And I thought some of my titles were cringy.

"...Ignoring the cringy names, how strong are they? Are they as strong as the Demon Lords or weaker?"

"Although they aren't as powerful as the Demon Lords of the Sage City, they are by no means weak. It would be best to take caution with them."

"Got it. Tell me if there's anything else I need to know regarding the Demon Lords. You're dismissed."

"Yes, my lord." And just as appeared in a flash, he disappeared just as quickly. That [Shadow Travel] skill is really convenient.

Once Naofumi disappeared in the shadows, The Head of the Wukong Clan, Sosuke, spoke up.

"Looks like the Demon Lords are going all out."

"Are the four Generals that difficult to deal with?" I asked.

"Indeed, my lord," The Head of the Mowang Clan, Yuma replied. "Although they aren't as strong as their masters, they are just as formidable. Otherwise, the Demon Lords wouldn't have given them those positions."

Great, so I have four generals to deal with along with the Demon Lords. I'll have to check them out and see how strong they are later.

Aside from that, as you can clearly see, I have inevitably accepted my Role as the Jade Emperor. I took up the role a couple of days ago, and things got busier when I did.

However, although it pains me to say this, accepting my role as Jade Emperor will definitely prove to be useful. With my status as Jade Emperor, I'm able to know everything regarding the Demon Lords and their status in preparing for war.

There's also the fact that I can easily command everyone here and on the battlefield without much issue.

The only problem is...Sayuri. When I told her that I'll take up the role of Jade Emperor...she gave me a smug smile before handing me the title. Ever since then, I've been given so much work that I can hardly keep up!
