Hopefully, for the last time, we descended down the stairs. Same metal stairs, same bunker-like lamps on the walls, same scenario as the last two staircase descents.

As we continued down the spiral staircase, I started thinking about the secret library and weapon's gallery. Both places contained powerful artifacts that dated back to the Elder Period, which should be impossible because any record of the Elders' existence was supposed to be erased.

And yet Desmond, the Champion of the Forge, somehow had both a library filled with Elder Grimoires and Elder Enchanted weapons. Neither of these should be possible, but this guy managed to get both of them in his possession.

To make matters even more confusing, neither floor seemed to have been used during the war. No one used elder magic in the war, nor did any of them had weapons that could decimate a town or city.

Knowing that Desmond was summoned during the War of the Gods, created both the Library and Gallery, it would be obvious what he intended to do with his creations, which was use it to win the war. However, this wasn't the case. Both floors seemed to be untouched and from what we've investigated, none of the grimoires or weapons gone missing.

This just doesn't make any sense. I can't understand why Desmond did all this. Just what in the world did Desmond plan to do?

Trying to wrap my head around all the questions floating around my mind, we finally made it to the bottom of the stairs. What stood before us was a large clearing, like a massive domed room.

The dome room was about 24 to 25 feet high, and about 35 to 40 wide in diameter. There were pedestals all around with barely anything else showing. I did see rectangle stone pedestals all around the place though.

From where I was standing, there was some kind of writing on the pedestals. It kind of looked like inscriptions like from the weapons and otherworldly relics.

But the stone pedestals were the least of my concern at the moment. At the other end of the room in front of us was a set of stairs leading up to a giant double stone door. Standing next to the doors appeared to be two statues that looked like knights.

The statue knights were about ten feet tall and were covered head to toe in black. The one of the right was carrying a great sword, while the one of the left had shield and short sword. They both gave off a very intimidating aura. It's almost as if they were alive...and watching us.

Trying to shake off the uneasiness from the statues, the others and I then walked further into the room, which meant coming closer to the statues and giant double doors. The place felt really huge, though we were closing the distance quite fast.

You know, now that I think about it, this whole place gave off a boss room vibe. There's not going to be some giant demonic, monster, or robot appearing to fight us, right? Knowing Desmond from what I've seen so far, I can't help but feel like he has something in store for us on this floor.

"Wait...isn't that...!" As we got closer to the entrance and statue knights, Zemmi's face shifted into a surprised expression. What's gotten into her?

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Those Knights..."

"You mean those statues? Do you recognize them from somewhere?"

"Master, I don't believe they're statues." Amy's statement made my blood go cold. Please tell me that she's mistaken and those are just regular statues.

Not knowing what was about to happen next, I pressed the two of them for information before it was too late.

"Those things aren't statues. They're Golem-like beings created during the Great Elder War. They were known as the Elder Knights, and they were frequently used against the First Generation and Elders." Zemmi's explanation started to make my head spin with more questions.
