"How long has it been since we've been in here?" Aarc muttered as it looked up at the dark red sky.

"I've lost track after maybe a month?" Nocticula replied. "Still...it's better being here than up there."

"How is Hell any better?" Aarc asked, looking at his surroundings. "There's barren wastelands, an ominous red sky, and also souls of the damn damned!"

While saying this, both of them looked at their current environment, which is literally the definition of Hell, because it was hell. There were grayish black landforms everywhere, a bloody red sky with ominous clouds everywhere, and creatures that used to be part of the living, which are now one of the damned, also known as spirits.

They were currently in the land of the Damned, also known as the Underworld. It's also known as the place where the Goddess of the Underworld rules over.

It has been close to two months since Emilia teleported Aarc and the rest of the group to the underworld after a sudden turn of events that transpired during the Battle of Great Lakes Town.

That turn of events being the Elder of Chaos suddenly appearing out of nowhere when the group was trying to tame one of the Forbidden beasts of the Apocalypse. The moment they realized that an Elder showed up, they knew they didn't stand a chance and bailed while they could.

And so, they've wondered around the depths of hell, knowing that the world has ended...or has it?

"Something's wrong..." Emilia said as she approached Aarc and Nocticula. With her were Lucian and Isaac, who helped her patrol the area.

"What do you mean?" Aarc asked.

"The underworld isn't in a panic. It seems as calm as ever."

"I'll ignore that last part, but what do you mean by the underworld not being in some kind of panic?" The goblin crime lord was confused as to what Emilia was talking about.

To him, he couldn't really tell if the underworld was freaking out or not. Then again, this was Aarc's first time being in Hell, while this was practically Emilia's home, so he thought the difference was the experience down here.

Since he knew Emilia's been here longer, he decided to trust her words and get some explanation.

"The amount of damned souls entering the underworld is at a steady pace. If the end of the world was happening, there would be a lot more souls coming here. Not only that, but Nether's presence is within the underworld instead of the mortal realm."

"S-should we be concerned?" Aarc panicked at the thought of getting caught by the goddess of the underworld.

To be fair, Aarc would be terrified to meet any of the gods. They hold a lot of power, and a single one of them could erase him like stepping on a bug.

"No," Emilia assured. "This part of the underworld is rarely patrolled. That is because it is a space between the Underworld...and the Pit, also known as the Realm of Tar."

"The pit, huh..." Aarc is well aware of what the Pit is.

The Pit is a place where the most heinous of sinners go to be punished. It was also the very place where Emilia was sent to after letting a soul escape the underworld, which made her who she is today.

"Considering we've been down here for close to two months, you can tell this place doesn't get checked," Nocticula stated.

"Yeah, but I think that's about to change," Lucian suddenly announced.
