Chapter 97: The Tour of Tengoku Part 5

   "This is your last chance to surrender, Carmilla!" Anri said while pointing her blade at the vampire.

Hmm, something seemed different though. Wait, is she wearing a mask right now? She was!

It looked like a demon mask of sorts. Could it be an Oni Mask? It was red and black, and it had really big canines.

Hang on, why is she calling that vampire Carmilla? Isn't her name Belladonna Monroe? Wait, I shouldn't be worrying about that right now.

I should be more concerned about the situation before me. The fight between Belladonna or I guess Carmilla, and Tora got so heated that Anri stepped in between them. But, something told me she only added more fuel to the fire.

"A-Anri...?" Tora said while staring at the girl in shock. I honestly thought that she'd attack Anri along with the vampire, but something was different.

For some reason, it looked like Anri and Tora know each other. Not as acquaintances but as friends. There was something in Tora's eyes that suggested that.

Anri didn't turn to face the Byakko Head. She simply glared at the vampire before her, radiating a very dangerous aura.

"Another pest to deal with..." Carmilla muttered in irritation.

"I don't recommend trying anything funny, vampire," Anri snarled while keeping her blade directed at the vampire's neck, waiting for the moment she could cut it off in one swift movement.

It seemed like they were at a standoff now. Whoever made the first move was up to them.

Then, Carmilla made the first move. She swiped Anri's blade away and tried to slash at her with her claws.

However, it seemed Anri expected this and ducked to dodge the attack. She then swung her blade up, attempting to slice off one of Carmilla's arms.

Luckily, she managed to achieve her goal as Carmilla's left arm flew in a bloodied arm, blood spraying out in the air. But, Anri wasn't done yet.

After taking one of the vampire's arms, she attempted to slice Carmilla completely in half while her sword was raised in the air. Sadly, this time, she failed.

Just before the blade touched her head, Carmilla transformed into a swarm of bats and put some distance between them.

"You're not getting away!" Anri tried closing the distance and slashed at the bats.

I felt it was pointless to do that unless she was in her base form, but somehow...

"A-aagh?!" Carmilla shrieked as she turned back into her base form. That's when I noticed that her arm was blackened like she contracted the plague or something.

[Impossible...] Kenos muttered in shock.

"Kenos? What's up?"

Before Kenos could answer, I sense other people approaching. When I turned to look, I saw my friends rushing over to us.

"Master!" Amy was the first to arrive and hugged me.

"Damien, are you okay?" Vlad asked with concern.

"Uh, yeah, I'm fine more or less."

Soon, everyone arrived along with the future Clan Heads.

"Whoa, Anri's going all out, huh?" Makoto said while looking at the fight between Anri and Carmilla.

Carmilla continued clutching her blackened arm while trying to keep her distance from Anri, though she's slowly losing speed, letting Anri catch up to her.
