It was now the third day of the Festival of the Gods. To my knowledge, today was the goddess of Earth, Erda's day.
I woke up feeling very refreshed and pulled myself out of the bed. Amy and the other two were still sleeping soundly. I didn't want to wake them, so I left the room and let the trio sleep some more.
When I went down the stairs and to the living room, I was greeted by Vlad and Van. And they weren't the only ones here. It seems that Zami and Clare decided to pay a visit as well along with...two other quests.
"Morning, Damien," Zami greeted me.
"Yeah...morning." The reason why my reply wasn't all that kind was that Kole and Clare's sister Chloe was here as well. And they were in my home.
You can probably understand why I'm a little irritated and on the defensive. My parallel minds were in agreement with my reaction.
{The hell are those two doing here? Zami and Clare are one thing, but Blonde and the sister need to leave.}
{I-it's true that seeing them is making me uncomfortable...}
{In that case, we should just kick them out. They'll likely cause trouble when Amy and the others wake up.}
{I say just kill 'em! They deserve it anyway!}
Although my parallel minds were, surprisingly, speaking my true desires, I refrained from giving in to temptation. After clearing my mind of any dark thoughts, I spoke to Zami.
"So, what's up? You usually wait for us at the festival. Is something wrong?"
"No, nothing's wrong. But we did figure out what happened to the Adventurer Sal and why he went berserk."
"Psychic Magic." Clare finished.
Yeah, I kind of figured that out. But what I don't know the person was that used the spell on Sal. Nothing came up on [Map] or [Monitor], so I got zip on that. I'm still trying to figure out how that's possible.
It has to be some kind of spell or relic that's protecting him from detection magic. Still, with [Map] and [Monitor], I should be able to find him regardless. Whatever he's using to block himself, it's both dangerous and annoying.
"Does Drake have any psychic skills?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"No. Drake Mirage is an illusionist and relies on his illusion magic. It's extremely rare for an Illusionist Class to have Psychic skills."
"Which means he might have a relic of sorts that allows him to mess with people's heads. Or..."
"He's not working alone." Chloe, who kept silent, decided to jump in.
So, our two scenarios are Drake has some kind of Psychic magical relic or he has a partner that has a Psychic skill. I wonder which was the right answer.
"So, how are we going to find them? I've been trying to, but came up with nothing."
"That's how Drake is," Zami continued. "He's very difficult to capture. He's just as bad as Aarc, the most notorious mob boss in the world."
It's the first I've heard of the guy. Then again, I don't keep track of wanted criminals since it's not my business, so I'm not surprised.
Either way, it's not this Aarc guy we're after. It's Drake. I just wish I can figure out how he's hiding so damn well.
{Hey, Damien, I think I got something from the Monitor Recordings.}
[Really? Alright, give me the rundown once we get to the city.]
