Chapter 108: News Travels Fast

"Just what the hell happen back there?!" Rokuro demanded as the Golden General was being taken care of by multiple medics.

"Whatever it was, it's serious," Ryuji grimaced watching everything they've planned crumbled one by one.

It all started when the Demon Lords were working on their route to send their army over to Tengoku City. They've already gathered their forces, and they're now working on the best path to travel to get there.

Getting from the Sheng City to the Heavenly City will take a considerable amount of time. It'd be one thing if they could just teleport there, but massive a teleportation spell for thousands to ten thousands of people at once would not be possible.

From what the Demon Lords could estimate, it would take a good two to three weeks. And considering the number of soldiers and also adding breaks and such, it would be even longer.

The Demon Lords were stumped at what to do. This wasn't even the worst part of this. A little while later, a massive energy surge occurred and the sky turned red.

This has happened before a little while back. They didn't know what caused this kind of phenomenon. All they knew was that the source of the malicious energy and red sky wasn't in Askon.

However, this time it was different. The source behind this malicious energy was coming from within Askon. What's worse was that the direction of that energy source was coming from the East. Meaning it was likely coming from the Heavenly City, Tengoku.

"T-this is insane..." Rokuro stuttered in fear.

"Just what is causing that...?" Yama questioned, sweating beading down his face.

None of the Demon Lords knew what was going on. They were as bewildered by this turn of events as the first time.

However, not everyone was as clueless...

"T-there's no way...!" Nocticula yelped, her legs shaking with fear. "N-not again! Not here!"

"I knew it!" Tamomo yelled, both in fear and triumph. "That energy is unmistakable!"

"You know what's going on?" Ryuji questioned, looking surprised.

"Of course I know, dammit! That's the First Elder's energy! Just like before!" As soon as Tamomo said this, Nocticula started panicking more.

"This can't be happening...how is this happening...?"

Her friends also seemed pretty alarmed, as they were looking into the direction of where the commotion was and had pale expressions, except for one of them anyway.

"Wait, the First Elder?" Rokuro questioned. "Are you serious?"

"Do not doubt me on this, Envious Sage," Tamomo chided. "I know that energy signature anywhere and it's here in Askon!"

"But that's..." Ryuji had no words as to what he just learned.

The source of malicious power was coming from the First Elder herself. What's worse is that Tamomo already warned them of this, and they ignored her, mainly because fighting the first elder would be no different than a suicide mission.

Ryuji would rather fight the Jade Emperor and the Twelve Clan heads by himself than go up against the First Elder. But something doesn't add up.

And that's why the First Elder is here in the first place. She should've been locked up with the rest of her siblings after the Great Elder War ended.

And yet, according to Tamomo, she's currently in Askon. Just what in the world is happening?

As if things couldn't get worse...it did. The malicious energy from before disappeared and soon something unexpected happened.
