After hearing about Azula's childhood, you saw her in a different light. You had honestly believed for her to be truly cruel and evil and you felt awful. The truth was that Azula hadn't been truly loved by either of her parents. Her father had influenced her to be cruel so he could show her an ounce of love and it scared her mother to the point that she called Azula a monster. Had she been raised in another household, Azula wouldn't have grown up to be the cruel person that she was.
Everyone had given Zuko a second chance and yet they didn't bother to offer Azula one. It wasn't fair of them and you believed everyone deserved a second chance.
As they challenged her to a fight, you stood behind them to listen to everything. With their attention on Azula, you quickly bended the Earth to wrap around their bodies.
"What are you doing! Azula is the enemy."
'Up until a few weeks ago, you were the enemy Zuko. Aang gave you a second chance."
"(y/n)! Azula is not like Zuko. She can't see reason."
Azula actually stopped and listened in to what was unfolding. She couldn't believe that one of them had turned against the rest.
"Have you even given her a chance? You're both so quick to assume that she will kill anyone that gets in her path."
"Exactly! She tried to kill Mai! How can you not see that she'll kill us if you don't let us go."
"Zuzu, your friend is onto something. If I were you, maybe you should let her speak."
Azula was curious about you. She had often seen you in the background during her fights with Aang but she never really paid any attention to you. Considering that you looked like you were on her side, she didn't want to kill you.
"As I was saying. What is wrong with letting Azula be Fire Lord? She clearly loves the Fire Nation and wants what is best for it. Is that not true, Azula?"
"It's true. I only want what's best for the nation. Father has only been ruining it with the war. With Father gone and more than likely defeated, I can finally be able to return the Nation to its former glory and repair what it did. "
Zuko believed that Azula was lying but she actually wasn't. For once in her life, Azula wasn't lying. She honestly wanted what was best for the Fire Nation. You knew that the trick that Toph had showed you to detect if she was lying wasn't going to work so all you could do was trust that she wasn't lying.
"See. Lets give her a chance."
Katara and Zuko looked at each other with uncertainty. They didn't want to agree to it but they knew that if they didn't you would let them go.
"Fine. We'll give her a chance but if she doesn't put an end to the war, we'll take her down like our father."
"That sounds perfectly reasonable to me Zuzu. I do like to prove you wrong so trust that I'll return our homeland to the once great nation that it was."

Azula had actually done the impossible. No one but you believed that she could help Aang return the peace to the 3 nations. They didn't trust her at first but once they saw the actual change she was helping to create, they had no choice.
"I can't believe you actually did it Azula. You actually ended the war and helped boost the other nations."
"I told you Zuzu, I like proving you wrong. Besides I can't take all the credit, (y/n) is the reason they gave me a chance and she helped with a lot of the things."
Zuko could see the small smile Azula was trying to hide as she said your name. Since she had been crowned Fire Lord, Zuko had seen how Azula gradually fell in love with you. She wasn't obvious about it but he could see through her.
"You know how you can thank her?"
"How?"
"Ask her out on a date so you can show her how much you appreciate her."
"Zuko! Why would I ask her out on a date? Have you hit your head during practice?"
"You can't fool me. I've seen you blush when she hugs you or compliments you. You laugh at everything that she says when it's hardly even funny."
"That's not true!"
"Really? I can call Mai to come over and confirm all these thing with me."
"Okay, okay! Maybe I do like her but I don't think she feels the same way."
Zuko gives her a look.
"Are you kidding me? We're talking about the same person that has gone through great lengths to defend your name."
"...so maybe she likes me."

"You wanted to see me Fire Lord Azula?"
Azula had to admit that she loved hearing her title come from you.
"Yes, I wanted to ask you a question. One that you're free to say no to."
"I feel like I should be worried about what you're going to ask. What is it?"
She makes her way down to meet you, feeling like it was better if the two of you were at equal footing. You don't move from your spot, curious about what she was going to ask.
"I wanted to ask if you would go out with me."
You're actually surprised that she was asking you out. She had never given you any indication that she liked you.
"You want to go out with me?"
"Yes, that's exactly why I asked you out. Like I said, you're more than welcome to say no.'
You can't help but laugh as you wrapped your arms around her neck.
"I would be crazy to say no. I'd love to go out with you, Azula."
