"Where do you think you're going Aang?"
Aang stops and turns around to face you. Surprise is evident in his face. He hadn't expected for anyone to be awake in the middle of the night.
"I'm just going out for some fresh air."
You practically knew Aang like the back of your hand with how often your sister, Katara would talk about him. It annoyed you but you were glad just this once to know that Aang had a tell when he lied.
"I don't believe you. Where are you really going?"
Like Katara had told you, he told you everything. He was never one to keep secrets.
"I'm going after Azula. We're the only ones that can fight and it would be safer for everyone if I fight her alone. She won't hurt any of them to get to me."
"You can't seriously think of going after her alone. Are you crazy?"
Aang looks over your shoulder, smiling as he saw Katara cuddle to the pillow he had been using.
"I just might be. Stay with them."
"Aang, Katara will kill me if I let you go alone. I'm coming with you."
"No. She'll kill me if you get hurt for coming with me on this stupid mission."
"See! Even you think it's stupid."
Aang sighs and looks towards some trees where some animals had flown away.
"I have to do this. If you're going to come with me, we need to go now. She's getting closer."
Wanting to leave them with an extra layer of protection, you closed the cave entrance with a wall of ice. It wouldn't last long but it would give them enough time to wake up and protect themselves.

The fight might've been 2 against 1 but Azula was at an advantage. Azula was taking out all her anger on him and all you could was protect him as he attempted to strike back. The two of you were getting exhausted while she still continued fighting with the same strength since the beginning. If the fight continue like it, Azula would end up killing the two of you. Deciding to finally enter his Avatar spirit, you keep Azula off of Aang as he starts the process. Out of nowhere, her 2 friends come from the side to fight you. They strike before you even have a chance to realize their appearance. One of them stabs you and the other knocks you down on your back. With you distracted, Azula shoots a lightning bolt straight at Aang.
"No!"
As a last effort to protect him, you create thousands of icicles to shoot straight at them. Azula doesn't even have a chance to melt them down before it heads straight for them. They dodge as many as they can and run further into the forest. With them gone, you make your way to Aang.
"Come on! Wake up Aang!"
Your last move had exhausted you, you could barely bend a water droplet. There was no way you could heal either of your injuries so with what little energy you had, you carried him as close as you could to the cave.

"They're gone! Come on guys, get up!"
Toph kicked your siblings as they refused to wake up.
"Wha..ow! Why did you hit me?!"
Sokka winces as he touches the large bump on his head that was already forming from the hit.
"Aang and (y/n) are gone. I can't feel their heartbeats."
Katara and Sokka both run around the cave in search of the two of you but find no trace other than the ice wall.
"Lets go then! They couldn't have gone too far."
The ice wall is melted and the three of them head out in search of the two of you.

"Over here!" Toph had managed to find you passed out in the middle of the forest. Blood was spilling from somewhere and she wasn't able to tell from who. She didn't want to move you in case she made the wound worse. "Careful! One of them is bleeding."
"It's (y/n), she was stabbed."
"What?!"
Katara and Sokka wince at the loud scream from Toph. She tried to get to you but Sokka held her back.
"You'll hurt her, Toph. Katara can handle this."
Toph continued to struggle in his arms as she tried to get to you. Katara paid her no attention as she focused on healing the two of you. Your wounds were easy to fix but Aang's would take some time. She forces herself to focus on the injuries to avoid crying and hindering her healing abilities. You had to wake up so you could help her heal him.
"What..what happened?"
Hearing your voice, Toph tackles you into a hug. The force of it making you cry out in pain. Katara had sealed the wound but it still hurt.
"You idiot! Where did you go!? How did you get hurt?"
"Wait Toph, we need to heal Aang. I can't do it alone."
Toph reluctantly moves back to give the two of you space to heal him. While she waited, she thought of everything she was going to yell at you for leaving and getting hurt.
"Katara? What happened?"
Katara hugs him tightly as he wakes up. Aang is surprised but happy to receive the hug. With you finally free, Toph focuses back on you. From all the things that she planned on telling you, she couldn't remember anything so she just kissed you. She was glad that you were okay now but she was still pissed about what had happened.
"You're an idiot for what you did. I hope you know that."
"It was Aang! He wanted to leave in the middle of the night alone and I couldn't very well let him go alone. Katara would have killed me if I did."
For the next hour, you and Aang got lectured about how incredibly stupid the two of you were. Sokka had left with Appa to be away from all the screaming. You both pleaded with him to come rescue the two of you but he was more afraid of Katara and Toph for what they would do if he helped.
