Kuvira wasn't sure when you had taken priority of the rebuilding of the Earth Empire. She had promised herself almost 3 years ago that nothing was going to stand in her way of the rebuilding. That included love but she hadn't envisioned herself falling in love with you. Kuvira had briefly met you as a private and as you quickly rose through the ranks, you were a constant presence in her life. Constant enough that she made you second-in-command.
Being her second-in-command meant that you would always be around for everything. You had to be there for any important meetings and take charge when Kuvira was unable to do so. It was easy for the two of you to become close friends. The switch from friends to lovers was quick. It happened far faster than the transition from second-in-command to close friend. Neither of you were prepared for the onslaught of emotions that came with the relationship. You had never been in a relationship with anyone and Kuvira hadn't trusted anyone enough to let her guard down.
It's been a year since the two of you started dating and Kuvira was wishing that she could just demote you. Not because you were terrible at your job, quite the opposite, you had rose through the ranks far quicker than anyone because of how incredible you were. She wanted to demote you because being her second-in-command meant that the two of you had to split jobs between each other. You were gone often and Kuvira missed you from the minute that you separated until the two of you got back together.
"Great Uniter, we just got word that General (y/n)'s company are on their way."
A soldier interrupted Kuvira's thoughts. Such act would cause for anyone to be sent to reeducation camps but Kuvira would let it go this time. She was becoming far softer than she originally was.
"Let everyone know to prepare for their arrival." He salutes her. "...one more thing. I suggest if you want to keep your position. Don't interrupt me again. Knock next time."
"Y...yes Commander."
"You're dismissed."
She smirks as she sees the fear in his eyes, her soft side is only reserved for you. He salutes her once again and leaves.

You're far much nicer than Kuvira. The men and women of Kuvira's army prefer to deal with you than Kuvira. They came to you whenever something was wrong so you could relay the message to Kuvira. It highly amused you to see how scared everyone was of Kuvira. If only they could see the side Kuvira hid from everyone but you, they'll see how sweet she was.
"General (y/n), I was told that you were to report to the headquarter with the Great Uniter. She wishes to speak to you."
You nod, giving him a smile.
"Thank you, Private. You're dismissed."
He salutes you and heads back to his post.
Purposely wanting to test her patience, you made several stops before meeting with Kuvira.

Kuvira paced up and down the room, wondering where you were. She had gotten word that you had arrived almost an hour ago and yet you still hadn't showed. The private must've messed up his one order, Kuvira thought. It was time for him to pay a visit to the reeducation camp. She could forgive his mistake once but not twice. She had a reputation to uphold.
The door is suddenly slammed open. Kuvira opened her mouth to start threatening whoever had dared pull of that stunt and then closed it when she saw who it was.
"About time that you showed. Did the private tell you my message?"
You close the door behind you, making sure to lock it.
"Is that anyway to speak to me, your future wife?"
"W..well I..."
You chuckle in amusement. Pulling her in for a kiss. It was so easy to fluster her.
"I missed you so much, (y/n)."
Kuvira pulled you in for an embrace, letting her head rest on your shoulders. You ran your fingers up and down her back, knowing how the movement had a calming effect on her.
"I missed you too, love. We won't have to separate anymore. It's just Republic City that still refuses to bend to your will but once it does, the Earth Empire will be complete for you to rule."
Kuvira sighs in content. She didn't care about any of that at the moment. She just wanted to spend time with you.
"Lets not talk about that. I just want to enjoy being with you. I haven't seen you in forever."
"Almost two months to be exact."
"Precisely. Lets head to bed, it's late already."
"You read my mind. Lead the way."
Kuvira opens the door for you, letting you step out first and then she takes the lead to take you to your shared quarters. Quietly, the two of you change into your pajamas and lay down besides each other.
"I missed this. I missed being in your arms.'
Kuvira whispered as you wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close.
"Well it's a good thing that I'm not leaving you anymore. I'm here to stay."
"As the Great Uniter, I command it."
"As you wish, Great Uniter."
