"If it isn't my lovely cousin, (y/n)! It's been so long since we've seen each other. I miss you. Aunt has not stopped crying about how much she misses you. Imagine the surprise she'll get when she hears that you've been helping the Avatar and his friends to stop father."
Toph, Sokka and Aang, are shocked to hear that you happen to be related to the madwoman that was trying to kill them all. It was so strange to see how different the two of you are.
"You're her cousin?!"
You wince at Toph's question. There was no doubt in your mind that she was furious.
"Whoops. Were they not supposed to know that. I thought they were okay with the fact that you were related to us."
You turn to her, glaring up at her. Azula had been kind to you before, you weren't sure why she was acting like his.
"Azula, stop!"
"Sorry! My mouth is sealed."
"Answer me!"
You reach out to cup Toph's cheek, but she stops you before you touch her. Taking a step back, she encases you in rock. You gulp loudly, feeling claustrophobic about being trapped in the rock.
"I....yes. I am."
"What else did you lie to me about?"
Azula smirks, happy to see she had possibly ruined your relationship with the Earth bender. She couldn't believe her ears when the Dai Lee had told her that you were locking lips with Toph. She might've been a noble but she wasn't of the Fire Nation. Something that was strictly forbidden since father took the throne. She cares for you and she didn't want for you to be executed because you had fallen for Toph.
You knew Toph could call you out if you lied to her. It would just make things worse if you didn't come clean.
"I'm a fire bender too."
Toph wipes away her tears, feeling stupid that she had ignored all the signs that were pointing to the fact that you weren't being entirely honest with her.
"So our entire relationship was based on lies?"
Azula knew that she needed to leave but she couldn't help herself and stay to enjoy the show.
"No! I just didn't know how to tell you who I really was. You hate fire benders and if you knew that not only was I a fire bender but I happened to be related to the Fire Lord then you would've never given me the time of day."
Toph turns around, not wanting for anyone to see how vulnerable she was. Sokka and Aang stand besides her. Taking a protective stance besides her.
"Toph! Please! I was going to tell you! I love you!"
"No, you don't! If you did, you would've told me. I would have rather started off hating you then starting a relationship with a liar. I hate you!"
