"We need more troops on th....." You stop talking when you spot your wife sneak into the meeting. You give her a warm smile before turning back to your generals. "I trust your judgement about what we can do about the uprisings in the Earth Kingdom. I must take my leave. Do not disturb me unless it's a life or death situation."
They nod and you make your way to your wife, leading her out of the room to kiss her softly.
"I'm sorry for interrupting..."
"Ursa, love. How many times must I tell you to never apologize? Frankly, I must thank you for interrupting the meeting. It was getting quite boring. It's always the same thing but I cannot blame them. Ozai often threatened them with execution for any mistakes." You sigh and shake your head, stopping yourself from continuing another rant about Ozai. "So what was the pleasure of your visit?"
Ursa takes your hand and leads your down several hallways.
"Well with the way you've been working hard to restore the Fire Nation to its former glory, I believe you're in need of a break."
"A break, huh? Will the Fire Lord allow it?"
Ursa gives you a smile.
"Oh. I'm sure that the Fire Lord will allow it. I can be pretty convincing."
You stop walking and pull her towards you to give her another kiss, this time it lasts much longer. Long enough that the two of you are pulled out of your trance by someone clearing their throat.
"You know that the two of you were kissing in front of all the portraits from the former Fire Lords."
Azula motions to the back of the two of you, not amused about the PDA. It was still gross to her. You raise your eyebrow at her and turn around to find that she was right.
"I'm sure that they won't mind. Where's your brother?"
"He's still in training. He can't seem to get a form right and decided to stay behind."
The two of you look at each other, unsure of what to do. Zuko was still suffering from the impact that Ozai had on him. He was still so hard on himself, intent on wanting to impress you. You would sit down and talk to him about it, he would seem like he understood for the day and the next morning, he would go back to his usual schedule.
"Lets give him some time alone and if he doesn't return in a hour, I'll go get him. Why don't you join us for tea, Azula?"
Ursa asks her. Ursa wouldn't be surprise if Azula declined, she was still coming around to liking you. Azula hated you when she learned about what you had done to Ozai. As the months passed by, Azula would slowly warm up to you until she stopped threatening you.
"Will my favorite dessert be served?"
"Of course, you know that it's my favorite."
"Fine then. I suppose that I can grace the two of you with my presence."
