Zuko couldn't believe how much you were spending just to surprise Azula with dinner. He had tried to step in and tell you that you were wasting too much money but he learned to keep his mouth shut after too many lectures that there was no such thing as wasting money when it came to wasting money.
"So what do you think? Do you think Azula will love it?"
Zuko looked around the decorations in the room. He knew it was too much but was perfect for Azula. You really knew her and he was happy that Azula had found someone like you.
"As much as it pains me to say this. She'll love the surprise. You really do know her."
"We have been dating for years now. It's no surprise that I know her better than I do."
You took a seat at the table, handing Zuko one of the dessert pastries that you had requested to be at the table.
"Good, no?"
"What the fuck? How did you manage to find someone that managed to make them like mother?"
"I have my ways. I can't wait to see Azula's face when she eats one. I just know she'll love it."
Zuko reaches for another one but you slap his hand away.
"Promise to keep this to yourself? You're not going to tell Mai about this, will you?"
"I've kept quiet about it for days, I can keep quiet about it for another hour."
You narrow your eyes at him for a second and then hand him the pastry when you see that he wasn't lying.

Azula knew something was up between you and Zuko. The two of you had been spending far too much time together. So much that you had even declined spending time with her just so you could spend time with Zuko. She didn't want to think that you were cheating on her with her own brother but it was the only logical thing. Nothing came to mind as to why you would prefer spending time with him than her.
"Ty Lee, is (y/n) cheating on me with Zuzu?"
The three of them were hanging out in Azula's room. Mai was looking at herself in Azula's vanity table. Ty Lee and Azula were laying down, side by side, on her bed.
"That's ridiculous, Azula. (y/n) is in love with you. She wouldn't hurt you or Mai."
Ty Lee's words sounded reasonable but it was hard for Azula to accept. She couldn't understand why Mai didn't have a problem with you spending time with Zuko.
"Mai, don't you think that Zuko is cheating on you with (y/n)."
Azula catches Mai's blade, centimeters before it cuts through her.
"Are you crazy?! I could have you executed for that!"
"Relax, princess. I knew you were going to catch it. I just wanted to snap you out of what you were thinking. You're crazy for thinking that (y/n) and Zuko would hook up."
