"Chief, I love that new uniform but I must say that I doesn't look like you'll be able to do much bending in it."
Lin was almost afraid to continue your conversation. She knew that you would just say something that wasn't appropriate for work.
"What are you talking about, (y/n)? I can bend in it."
"Hmm. I don't think you can bend over in it." She narrowed her eyes at you and slammed you against the wall. "I definitely like where this is going, Chief. You have my full permiss...."
"That is enough! I'm your superior. I could get you kicked off the force for saying things like that. Saying things like that at work is not appropriate."
"But I like making you blush, Chief. I think it's cute."
"Enough, (y/n)! I'm twice your age. You shouldn't be making comments like that to me."
You give her a smile, letting your fingers trace up and down her arm.
"But I like you, Lin. I don't care about your age. I'll tone things down if you'd like. I planned to say something sweet about you but I keep getting lost in your eyes and it's making it hard for me to think"
Lin tried her best to hide her smile but you could still tell.
"(y/n), stop. I meant for you to complete stop whatever it is that you're doing."
"Lin, did the sun just come out or did you just smile at me?"
Lin finally lets you go, needing some room to breath. She should've known that you weren't going to make it easy.
"I've told you to stop, (y/n). I don't know what you're trying to gain from doing this but you need to stop. You're being inappropriate. If you want to go out on a date with someone then I suggest you find someone younger. Someone that can keep up with what you say."
"But I like you and I want you to go on a date with me. If you really want me to stop then I'll stop, Lin. I only kept saying things like that because I thought you liked hearing whatever stupid thing that I came up with. I like making you smile and I like making you blush. I never meant to upset you. I've never been good at reading the room."
"You really like me?"
Lin finally says something after a few minutes of silence. You had thought that she was thinking of a way to fire you but you're relived to hear that wasn't the care.
"I really like you, Lin."
"If you're serious about going on a date with me then I accept as long as you at least quit saying the inappropriate comments."
"You mean that?!"
"I mean it."
You couldn't help but smile, happy that things where moving forward with Lin.
"I thought happiness started with an 'H', it turns out that it starts with you."
Lin wanted to be annoyed but she couldn't bring herself to. She was just so damn happy.
"I think I can get used to these."
"Really? Because I have a whole bunch of them. I could..."
"Go to work, (y/n)."
"But I..."
"Work."
"Last one, I promise."
"Fine, last one."
"If cuteness was a crime, you'd be guilty as charged."
Lin groaned loudly as she covered her face with her hand.
"Don't make me regret accepting your date..."
You're out the door before she even gets to finish what she was going to say.
