You glared at your nanny, refusing to do as she was telling you to do so. Azula, your mother had promised to take you to feed the ducks and like always, she couldn't make it. It was always because she had meetings or because a crisis had come up. None of her excuses mattered to you, what you wanted was to spend time with your mom.
"Please, (y/n). You need to get out of your pajamas, your mother is not going to be happy to find that you haven't gotten out of bed."
"No! She promised to go feed the ducks with me. If she can't keep her promise then I'm not getting out of bed. What's the point of getting out of bed then?"
The poor woman is almost in tears as you continue to refuse to do what she said, Fire Lord Azula did not like having servants that couldn't do as she said.
"I'll feed the ducks with you as long as you want. You just have to change into your clothes."
"No! I don't want to feed the ducks with you. I want to feed the ducks with my mom."
The door to your room suddenly opens and you both turn around to find at the entrance. Your face lights up when you see her.
"Mom!!"
You finally climb out of bed and run up to hug her. Azula laughs as you crash into her for the hug. She returns it and the kneels down so you wouldn't look up at her.
"(y/n), why aren't you dressed?"
Her question reminds you that you were mad at her. Pulling your hands from her, you take a step back and cross your arms while glaring at her.
"I'm not talking to you. I'm mad."
Azula starts to laugh, finding your fit of anger to be adorable. Unlike her, you didn't have mean bone in your body.
"You're mad, huh? Why is my princess mad?"
"Because you lied! You said you were going to feed the ducks with me. Nezo said that you weren't going to be able to."
"Well I have some news for you. Nezo will get the day off and you're going to join me..."
"WE'RE GOING TO FEED THE DUCKS?!!"
Azula winces as you nearly make her ears bleed.
"If you behave, we'll go feed the ducks."
You rush over to Nezo and grab the clothes she had set out for you.
"I'll behave!"
You say before rushing to the bathroom to change and get ready for the day. Nezo makes her way over to Azula, worried that she would get fired.
"Fire Lord, I...."
"Don't worry about anything. I'm not going to fire you. She'll have my ass if I do. Go enjoy your day off."
Nezo thanks her and heads out just as you walk out.
"I'm ready, mom!"

Listening to your mom talk about stuff that you didn't understand ended up boring you. You did your best to listen but you didn't care about anything that was being said. When she wasn't looking, you closed your eyes and fell asleep.
While asleep, Azula hurries to finish everything she had to do for the day before waking you up.
"(y/n)? Princess? You need to wake up."
You groaned loudly, waving her hand away so you could get some more sleep.
"go away."
You mumbled.
"Don't you want to feed the ducks, (y/n)."
You open your eyes and quickly stand to hurry outside.
"I do! Lets go! Lets go feed the ducks!"
Grabbing her hand, you run out of the room and the hallways that led to the pond that she had expanded for you. A servant was already waiting for the two of you with plenty of food for the ducks. Azula thanks him and dismisses him for the day. Finally alone, the two of you make your way over to the ducks. Like always, you threw the food to the ducks while Azula handed it to you when you ran out.
When there's no food left, you make your way over to hug your mom again.
"Thank you for bringing me mom. I'm sorry for being so difficult."
Azula hated that you had to practically beg for her to spend time with you. She had made a promise to prioritize you over anything else and she was already breaking her promise.
"No. I'm sorry for letting you down. I'm not going to let it happen again. From now on, work comes second."
Azula started to cry as she thought about the many times that she wished her father had done the same for her. You didn't know what to do other than hold her tighter. You thought she was crying because she had broken your promise.
"It's okay, mom. I forgive you."
It takes her a second to stop crying and when she does, she leans down to kiss the top of your head.
"Thank you, princess. Lets go get dinner, I heard they're serving your favorite."
Again, you scream and drag her to the kitchen, unable to wait another second for it. Azula just laughs and runs with you.
