Azula stopped paying attention to both her brother and mother as they started talking about things that bored her. She wasn't sure why Zuko had even insisted for to come along if they were just going to ignore her the entire time.
Her eyes search around the room for something to distract herself with when she spots you outside the window.
"Who is that child outside in the garden?"
Azula frowns when she hears Ursa's annoyed sigh. It was a painful reminder of when she was a child and that could only mean one thing.
"That's (y/n). I took her when I saw she had been abandoned. I've tried getting her to like me but she seems to have a grudge against me. Much like you, Azula. I think I took her in because she reminded me of you."
"I see. You wanted to ease your guilt and raise another child because you thought it would make up for the love that you didn't provide me."
"Azula, that's not it."
"No? You said so yourself, 'I took her in because she reminded me of you.' I don't you could be any more clearer than that. Thank you for showing me your true colors. I'll be outside when you're ready to go Zuko."
"Azula, stop being so hard on mom. Give her a chance."
She stands up and makes her way out of the cabin.
"A gave her plenty of chances and she screwed every single one of them. I'm done with her"
They both wince as she slams the door shut.

"I heard we're similar." You don't bother to look up as she approaches you. She was probably sent by Ursa to get you to talk to her. "I see that you're not a talker. That's alright. I just wanted to give you an offer. I heard my terrible mother decided to take you in because you reminded her of me . With her history of abandoning her children, I don't doubt that she'll also abandon you when she realizes that you're too much to handle."
"You don't know me!"
You yell at her, furious with the way she was talking to you. This woman was definitely not sent y your mother considering that all she's ever been trying to do was to get you to warm up to her.
"Ah, so you do talk. I'm simply telling you the truth." You never asked for the truth and you hated her for thinking that you wanted it. On the palm of your hand, you light up a fire but immediately burn it out when you see her laughing. "That's all you can do? If you want to threaten someone with your fire, you need to make them bigger. Like this."
Your eyes widen when you see a bigger and brighter fire in her hand.
"How did you do that? I..I want to learn how to do that."
"Really? Well then let me finish my offer. You come live with me at the capitol. Ursa is not fit to be a mother and I know you'll be better off with me. I can keep you safe and show you how to keep yourself safe."
You stare at her, waiting for her to laugh again. You weren't sure why she was being nice to you. It made no sense as to why she was even inviting you to live with her.
"Why? What do you gain out of this?"
"I've always wanted a little sister."
"What about Kiyi?"
"I don't care about her. I care about you. I want to be there for you and I know my mother, she's going to abandon you the moment that you start showing more signs that you'll turn out like me."
The woman was right. As soon as you had started acting out, Ursa stopped trying to help you. You might not know who this woman was but she wasn't afraid of you and that made her 100x better than Ursa.
"I don't even know you."
"Princess Azula of the Fire Nation. Considering that my mother decided to adopt you, I'm your older sister."
You nod as you take her hand. Azula wanted to push you off of her, not used to having someone invade her personal space. She stops at the last second, reminding herself that she needed to be kind to you. She didn't want you to turn out like her.
