Lin sat on the bed as she watched you finish getting ready for the party. For the past hour, she had been trying to get you to stay home.
"It's not even going to be a fun party, it's just a party for everyone to show off."
You rolled your eyes as you finished fixing your hair.
"And? A party is a party. I haven't been to one in months and I want to go."
"We can go to another party. One that I promise to you will be much better than this one."
As you finished, you turned around to give her a glare.
"I get that you don't want anyone to know that we're dating but now you're prohibiting for me to go out to the same public events that you go to?"
Lin sighs, suddenly feeling bad.
"No. I'm sorry. I just worry that someone will eventually find out and...."
"I promise that they're not going to find out Lin." You press a kiss to her lips and then grab your bag. "Lets go. We don't want to be late."

Like always, after spending some time together at the party, you both went your separate ways. You went out to dance with people and Lin joined Tenzin and his wife. Things had been fine until someone that you had been dancing with had decided that he wanted to get to know you a little better. Lin couldn't stop staring at the guy as he flirted with you.
"Lin, why does it look like you want to murder the guy?"
Pema asks when Tenzin finally leaves. She didn't want to say anything in his presence to avoid scaring off Lin. She had known about the two of you dating after accidentally catching the two of you kissing. Pema figured that the two of you wanted to keep it a secret from everyone so she kept quiet about it.
"That's because I do. Look at him! Who does he think he is?"
Pema has to force herself to not laugh as she watched Lin be jealous of the man that was dancing a little to close to you.
"By the looks of it, it seems like he's her date."
"He's not her date! We came together so (y/n) just met him."
"Really? Could have fooled me. They look like they've known each other for a while."
"I'm going to kill him."
Lin mutters under her breath as she makes her way over to the two of you. Pema just watches in amusement as she see Lin walk off.
"What did I miss?"
"Oh nothing. You just arrived for the main event."

Lin stands besides you as she pushes off the man.
"Back away before I break all your bones."
"What's your problem! We were dancing!"
You just stood by Lin's side, unsure of what was going on. Just a few hours and she was claiming that she didn't want anyone to know about the two of you. With the scene she was causing, people were already talking.
"Lin, lets just go."
You whispered to her but she ignored you.
"You're my problem! She's my girlfriend. Now fuck off."
The man immediately runs off when he realizes how fucked he was. Had he known that you were dating Chief Beifong, he would've never approached you.
With him gone, Lin finally turns to face you. She could see that people were staring but she didn't care. She was just relieved that the man had left.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, Lin. What about you? Now everyone knows."
Lin smiles as she pulls you in for a quick kiss.
"Let them know. I'm an idiot for hiding our relationship."
You just laugh as you continue the evening, dancing with Lin.
