"MOOOOOOOOM!"
You wince from the pain in your ears as Su screams for you again. All you wanted was just a moment alone with Toph. She had just gotten back from Republic City and your daughters were already fighting.
"Su, sweetie. Toph just got here. I told you that I wanted the two of you to behave just for one day."
"Lin started it! You can't seriously get mad at me for trying to defend myself."
A second later and Lin runs into the room.
"Nu uh! Su started it."
You furrowed your eyebrows as you felt a headache coming on. Toph could immediately tell what was going on as she felt you tense up besides her.
"Apologize to each other." They start to groan but Toph cuts them off. "I just have a feeling that it was the two of you that started it." The two of them glared at each other before mumbling some apologies and then running out the room. "Finally, some peace and quiet." She takes your hand and moves it up to kiss the back of it. "I'm sorry. I can't imagine it's been easy with how often they get into a fight."
"You don't have to apologize, Toph. I love them. I just wish we could get one moment together that they don't interrupt. You've been gone so long and I..."
"I know. I'll force your cousin to babysit so we can have the night together, how does that sound?"
"I love the sound of it."

"Ow! Toph! Why did you hit me?"
"I need a favor, Zuko."
"You could've asked without hitting me with that rock. Now I'm going to have a giant bruise on my forehead."
"Be grateful that it wasn't a boulder."
He rolls his eyes, hating how Toph still treated him like a kid.
"What is it that you wanted?"
"Can you babysit Su and Lin?"
"What why? Aren't they old enough to take care of themselves."
"I want you to take a second to think about what you just said Zuko. No, wait. I want you to picture the two of them running around the palace with no adult supervision. Can you image the amount of damage those two will cause?"
Zuko's eyes just widen as he thinks about the last time that they had been left alone. Had you not stepped at the last minute, there would've been no palace left behind.
"Okay! Okay! I'll babysit them but you better tell my cousin that she owes me. I also want to spend some alone time with Mai."
"First of all, gross. You could've just told me that you wanted to for us to babysit Izumi."
"How is that any different than what you told me?!"
"It's different because I said so but fine. If you babysit them, we'll babysit Izumi for you."

Zuko had kept his promised and babysat Su and Lin for the evening. With not having to worry about the troubles that Su and Lin would cause, you were both free to do as you wished. Wanting to have just a simple date, Toph prepared everything to have a picnic near the palace gardens. It was relaxing to have some alone time with Toph after so long and you didn't want it to end.
"We really need to do something about Lin and Su. They're going to seriously hurt each other one time." Toph leans in to kiss you, completely ignoring what you had said. "Toph? Toph? I'm talking to you."
Toph groaned loudly and pulled back from the kiss.
"Babe, we can talk about them at any other time. Lets just enjoy our one day of peace and tomorrow we can focus on how to deal with their anger issues."
"You're right, I'm sorry."
The two of you go back to kissing only to be interrupted after a second by a scream. You nearly cried out in frustration but stopped yourself after taking a calming breath. You turn around to find Zuko barely making his way up the hill.
"It's the girls. I couldn't separate them and they're destroying the courtyard."
Both you and Toph take off to the courtyard to find Lin and Su in the middle of a fight.
"That is enough!"
The two of them freeze when they see your furious expression. It was scarier to see Toph's surprised expression. This just meant that even she hadn't seen you this angry.
"I've let this go on for far too long. I think being apart from each other will serve the two of you some good. Toph, you're going to take Su with you when you head back to Republic City. Lin, you'll be staying with me in the Fire Nation." They started to speak but you stopped them. "No. I gave the two of you plenty of chance. Now go apologize to your uncle and then head to your rooms."
When they both walk away, Toph pulls you into a hug.
"I'm sorry that our evening didn't turn out so well."
"It's fine, Toph. All that matters is that I'm in your arms. Lets just go to bed. Tomorrow is another day. We'll deal with their mess tomorrow as well."
The two of you headed to your shared bedroom where Toph held you as you slept.
