"My lucky day."
Hearing your soulmate's first words to you were meant to spark joy. You never thought that hearing the words you had on your arm would be so upsetting. Waterbenders and Fire bender soulmates were so rare now. You couldn't possible have a fire bender as a soulmate. Much less the Princess of the Fire Nation. The same one that has been chasing you and your friends all over the Earth Kingdom.
While Aang dealt with Azula, you stayed behind with Katara to deal with her two friends. It was hard concentrating on the fight at hand as you kept thinking about how unlucky you were. Out of all the people that could've been your soulmate, it had to be the Princess.
"(y/n)! Watch out!"
Katara yells to warm you but it's not enough time as Ty Lee blocks your chi, causing you to lose feeling of all your muscles. You hit the ground hard but you're unable to feel it. All you knew that it was just going to hurt like a bitch when the feeling in your muscles returned. Unable to help your sister, you wanted as she struggled to keep you safe and take out both of Azula's friends. Her chi manages to get blocked as well but Sokka swoops in just at the right time.
"It's about time, Sokka. We could've been killed!"
"You should be grateful that I arrived when I did"
Katara rolls her eyes as she helps you sit properly on Appa's saddle.
"This should wear off. I don't think it'll last long."
You just nod and close your eyes. The day had been hell and you just wanted for it to be over.

When you come to again, Aang had joined the three of you.
"(y/n), you're awake. How are you feeling?"
"Everything hurts. I never want to experience that again."
"I can help with the pain, my bending is back."
You nod and watch as she tries her best to ease the pain. You would've healed yourself but Katara has always been the better bender.
"What happened out there? I've never seen you that distracted."
"I just worried about the baby. I didn't want for him to get hurt."
"That's not it. There's something else."
"Just drop it, Katara. I'm tired."
You push her hand off of you and move to lay down on the corner of the saddle. There was no way they could find out about who your soulmate could be. You were just going to have to come to terms with the fact that you weren't meant to ever be with your soulmate.

The next time you meet up with Team Azula, it's impossible for you to join your friends and fight with them. You couldn't stand the thought of accidentally hurting Azula, even if she wouldn't hesitate to burn you.
