TW: Depression and self harm... continue if you want.
As Annabeth climbed the short ascent to enter the brick stone building that is Goode, her arm stung. Images of last night hit her, the razor, Helen, the blood. So much blood... too much blood. Percy would kill her if he knew what she was doing to herself. Its moments like that, that she wonders why she wastes her time dating boys that aren't Percy. Oh! He's madly in love with Rachel! Thats right. Oops. Moving on...
"Annabeth!" Percy's sultry, groveling morning voice rang in her ears. "Annabeth I didn't hear from you last night. I told you I'd call you after practice but you never answered." He didn't intentionally give her his infamous seal eyes and pouty face, but it was a reflex at this point.
"Sorry." She side stepped him to get to her locker.
"No, no that wasn't my intention, I just wanted to make sure you were okay."
"I'm fine Percy."
She shrugged off her coat and put it in her locker. She pulled her sleeves down, insuring that they wouldn't roll up. She can cut thumb holes later...
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." She was almost exasperated. She knew he was trying to look out for her and protect her all costs but she also knew he couldn't protect her from herself. She loves him for it, but sometimes she wants to just deal with it the way she wants to deal with it. If letting some blood out can release the ever expanding pounding of negative thoughts in her head, who's to say what the right coping mechanisms are?
"Hey babe." Rachel tapped Percy's shoulder and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him ever so close to her, barely covered, body. It was a messy, open mouth kiss. If you walked by them, you could see Rachel trying to locate his tonsils. He got them removed when he was five, so there was no point really, but yet she still tried. Rachel pulled back making sure to bite his bottom lip and tug on it.
"Ow." He felt his lip, it was bleeding.
"I'm sorry baby, you're just so delicious I want to eat you." She nuzzled his neck. "Did you go to the beach again?"
"Yes?"
"Figures, you never don't smell like the beach." He shrugged.
"Uhm-" Annabeth tried to get around them. "Excuse me—" She tried to slide past them in the crowded hallway, but Percy caught her forearm. She silently whimpered in pain. Note to self: Do it higher up where people hopefully won't grab you.
"Wait." He slid out from Rachel's hold. "I'll walk with you." He smiled and slid his arm over her shoulders. "And you're positive you're okay?"
"Yes? Why do you keep bugging me?"
"It's just a little weird that you didn't answer my calls, and you came to school late and all over the place."
"I'm not all over the place. Gods Percy am I not allowed one day to not want to be me?"
