A/N: This isn't the one shot I subtweeted about— inspired by Chad Michael-Murray's character in Gilmore Girls and such. Great show if you're looking for something to hold you over until the pjo show lol anyway. Enjoy :)

"Oh true apothecary, thy drugs are quick—"

Percy paused, staring down at Annabeth's 'lifeless' body, the way the light hit the side of her face; she was the definition of elegance and beauty. His mind was suddenly empty. He lost where he was and -fuck- if she wasn't the prettiest woman he ever laid eyes on— "L-Line?"

"Seriously, Percy?" Reyna chided, rolling her eyes.

"Line." Percy deadpanned.

"'Thus with a kiss I die!' Get it right, Percy."

"And then I kiss her, right?"

"Right." Annabeth said, eyeing Connor in the corner of the auditorium.

"I'm just— maybe she should cry." Percy suggested, smirking (not not at Connor).

"She's dead." Reyna explained.

"Well, I just think this kiss should be as special as our first one, you know?"

"What?" Annabeth opened her eyes and sat up, worried, her eyes meeting Connor's.

"At the capulet ball...." Percy smiled, looking up at the rest of the people in the room.

Five Months Ago...

Annabeth showed up at Madeline's party, trying to keep Connor out of her mind and looking for any reason to forget her life back home for just a night. She would be with these people for at least two more years, and getting to know them might be worth it.

"Mary! You made it!" Percy fucking Jackson.

"Percy." She grumbled.

"Oh, don't worry, Mary, I came here with Lacey, you're all good." He winked at her before being pulled off by Lacey into a closet.

Annabeth walked around the massive house, not knowing whose house she was in, but appreciative of the structure and size of the house nevertheless; She counted at least seven fireplaces just downstairs.

She grabbed water as she walked, narrowly avoiding drunk teens and garbage scattered about the floor.

"Annabeth?" Reyna, her best frenemy, the only word that could honestly describe her, was suddenly beside her.

"Reyna, I didn't think parties were your scene."

"My roommate made me come. I only have to stay until eleven thirty, what time is it now?"

"Eleven." Annabeth tried not to smile.

"Ugh, what are you doing here?"

"I figured it would be worthwhile to try to get to know these people a little better."

"Where's your boyfriend?"

"He's not my boyfriend anymore." Annabeth gave a tight, curt smile, thinking back to how suffocated she felt by Connor.

"Sorry— at least you've had a boyfriend." Reyna nudged her almost in a friendly manner. Maybe she had something to drink....

"Rey!" Percy called out.

"Can you believe him?" Reyna scoffed.

"I know, he won't leave me alone." Annabeth rolled her eyes.

"He's kind of cute, no?"
