70. Its Okay To Not Be Okay

Lets set a couple things straight. I, Annabeth Chase, do not cheat. I am not a cheater. With that said, please don't take the story of how my husband and I got together as a reflection of who we are as people.

It all started when my uh... boyfriend left for a boat trip to Italy. In all fairness his dad had just died and it was their family boat, but he didn't even ask me to come. I was understandably distraught, but my friend Percy, he was recently hired and we grew close very quickly. Probably because we're two of the three twenty year olds in the office but you cant tell me that isn't fate on our side. He's really sweet too. Like...

Two years ago...

Before Luke left he had assigned Percy to fill out these complaint cards. They're these little green index cards that you fill out when somebody has a complaint about a company employee. So he had them all filled out and he was getting a little goofy, and started to build one of those card towers. Half of the office, like the back of it where he sits, all got involved, trying to get him to build it a certain way. When we had maybe three cards to go one our, how would I put this lightly... less intelligent coworkers wanted to put up a card, the others protested of course but Percy wasn't going to tell him no. So when he inevitably knocked the tower over the only person who didn't want to or was bout to hit him was Percy. What he said instead was:
"Guys! Guys, guys! This is what the tower is about! We wouldn't have a tower to make if we didn't make mistakes." I could of kissed him right then and there. Looking back on it, I should have. I would have been happier a lot earlier if I had.

One year ago...

Luke had just texted me that he sold his boat, and decided to stay in Italy for a while. Why you might ask, I have no clue, but the icing on the cake was that it was Christmas. The party planning committee had forgotten and we only remembered when it was like three. They scrambled and scrambled when Percy made a Die Hard Quote.
"What?"
"It's from Die Hard!"
"I've never seen that."
"What!?"
"What?" He could always make me giggle, as much as I hate to admit it, he is the only one who can do it.
"Thats it. Come on." He took my hand and took me into Luke's office.

He sat me down and started to recite the movie from heart.
"How— no- why, why do you know the whole thing!?"
"My brother dared me to do it one year and I guess," He looked me in the eye and I felt something flicker or flutter in the pit of my stomach. "I just never forgot it." He smiled, and I had this urge to grab his tie and pull his lips towards mine. Based off his ocean scent I can just imagine how sweet his salty lips would taste against mine. Or the feeling of his hands in my hair, and holding my waist right against his. Maybe even the feeling of how perfect my legs could wrap around his waist or— I need to stop.

A month after Christmas...

"Okay guys, Percy you will be running the facebook page with the help of..." Piper scanned the room. "Annabeth. Annabeth are you good with that?" I look to Percy, who's smiling at me with those sea green eyes and charming, ruggedly handsome face.
"Yeah. Yeah thats okay." Luke flashed through my mind of course but one look into those deep as the ocean, ocean eyes and Percy's all I can think about.
"Alright you guys go to the annex and get started— Jason and Hazel..." Percy stood up, straightened his tie and held the door for me.

"Why thank you kind sir."
"Of course." He winked, and all my body heat rushed to my cheeks and tips of my ears. "So I have an idea, I kinda love it and," his eyes twinkled with this gleam in his eye, and I felt that twinkle in my cheeks, "we could create this fake account right and have them follow us and the company, maybe some other like Piper, Hazel and Frank?"
"Thats not half bad. ... especially for a Seaweed Brain" I ruffle his hair as he pouts.
"You know its not pure seaweed."
"Oh really?"
"Really!"
"Alright, lets get this account up and running."
