"Percy, it's okay."

"No, no, just give me a minute." He closed his eyes almost praying to it.

"Percy, seriously, I'm not even that in the mood. Come on, let's go meet Piper and Shel."

"Tonight was supposed to be for us, and I am not going to be the reason—"

"Should I try?"

"No, no I think I might just need a break. I'm just going to grab a Gatorade or something."

"I'll get it for you, okay?"

"Blue?"

"No, I was getting you red." She deadpanned.

"Do me a favor?"

"You mean other than not break up with you over this?"

"Yes, but also don't uhm don't tell Jason or-or Leo."

"Percy, the only people this stays between is me—"

"And you—"

"And Piper, Reyna, Hazel, Shel and Thalia."

"Annabeth—"

"I'm kidding."

"Annabeth, this has never, and I mean, never happened before."

"So... so it's me?" She pulled away from him.

"What? Gods, no, Beth, it's not you."

"Then if it's never happened before, why would it be happening?"

"I'm just tired, I guess."

"I'll go get my big man, a drink."

"Oh don't talk in that voice."

"Why is it...getting you going?"

"No, it's making it softer." He sat just staring at his... lap.

"You're mean."

"Love you."

Annabeth stole his shirt to go down to the kitchen. They went away for intercession to Vermont. The Blofis family has a house in West Dover and Annabeth wanted to have some time just the two of them... and then Piper wanted to come, and they had a bunch of extra rooms. So she and Shel have a room, Jason found out and decided he would be coming too, and then the rest of them decided to tag along.

It was only six and they had been supposed to be getting ready for dinner... and then Annabeth pulled out that red dress... and well....

***

Annabeth is met with Piper's ever changing eyes, and knew no amount of  sex, good, or bad, was worth this conversation.

"Hey, Beth." Piper smirked and looked up from her coffee mug.

"H-Hey."

"Are you almost ready for dinner?"

"Yeah, I—I mean yeah."

"Sounded like fun up there."

"It happens, okay?"

"What does?" Piper asked not so innocently.

"I need to get back to Percy."

"Sounded like he might need some help anyways."

"Okay. If you know something, just say it." Piper burst out laughing. "It happens to like every guy... apparently."

"Oh, babes."

"What?" Annabeth shrugged, picking at the countertop.

"It doesn't."

"What are you saying? That-that what? He's not attracted to me anymore, what are you saying?" Annabeth pulled out a bottle of Gatorade and started pouring some for Percy.

"Nothing, I didn't say anything."

"Well, you're clearly thinking it." She harshly slammed the bottle on the counter.

"Calm down, Beth, it happens or so they say."

"He says it's not me, but unless he's been with anyone else I don't see how it couldn't not be me."

"Well, did he eat anything today? You guys spent the whole day driving up here, so I'm sure he's tired from driving."

"We split the drive when we stopped at a rest stop off of ninety one."

"Oh, gods, babes, no wonder he can't get it up, have you showered?"

"Rude!"

"Well if I had to eat your pussy after you used the bathroom off of ninety one I would lose my  boner too."

"—Annabeth!" Percy shouted from their room.

"Coming, my love!"

"Use a twisting motion, and make sure to really accentuate the pop when you let go of it."

It didn't hit Annabeth what Piper meant until she was halfway off with her shirt, and Percy's hand was fumbling with the button on her pants.
