26. Spiderz 2

Annabeth was home, she lives with Percy in an apartment in New Rome where they go to college. They've made massive strides, and have been able to go without each other for at least a day, and today... Well Percy is out taking a tip to the local marine life preserve.

Annabeth was relaxing on their couch doing homework when she saw it. How dare it invade her home! Not to mention when Percy isn't home. She decided that instead of dealing with it she'd head to Piper's. She picked up her books, grabbed her bag and locked it in. She ran, and I mean ran to Piper and Jason's apartment. Its in a whole other apartment complex. Close by but far enough away she doesn't have to worry about the beast following her.

She climbed the stairs since elevators were somewhat of a sore subject still, books and all. She pounded on Piper's door, and when she didn't answer she banged on the door again.
"How can she not be home? She never goes anywhere! She must be home!" She continued banging on the door, like that would make Piper appear in her apartment.

Surprisingly it worked, because after three minutes of straight pounding on her door, Piper appeared and opened the door.

"WHAT?!"

"There's a spider..." Piper huffed and got out of the way.

"Hi Annabeth." Jason's hair was a mess and his shirt was inside out but Annabeth decided not to say anything. "How are you?"

"Fine thank you. And yourself?"

"I was fine." Oh. Well now she want to bring it up and embarrass him.

"Your shirts inside out there sparky." He turned bright red. She got what she wanted.

"So uhm where's Percy? Why are you bothering us?"

"I just missed my best friend!" She wrapped an arm around Piper, who scowled as she did.

"And the real reason?"

"Thats the truth!"

"Yuh huh. Okay so if I were to kick you out you'd just go home?"

"Yup."

"And the fact that youre here right now wouldn't happen to be because of bug?"

"They're not bugs! They're monsters! They have eight legs! Disgusting! They're useless little deathly beasts that were made to torment me!" Jason just smirked at her like he won this round.

"And you didn't call Percy why?"

"He's busy..."

"So you decided to come bother us?"

"Excuse you Jason my best friend lives here and thats why I'm here, if it just so happens that there's a deadly beast in my home that shouldn't matter."

"Well I'm going to get some work done." He went to stand up when Annabeth stopped him.

"Lets play a game!"

"Yes lets play send the Athenian home!"

"No! Lets play monopoly!" He rolled his eyes but Piper sent him a look and they got out the game.

They played for a long time. Well Jason and Annabeth did. Jason being Roman, and carefully calculated and Annabeth being Athenian it was quite the battle of minds. Piper was out within the first half hour. She didn't really care she was just happy to be with Jason and Annabeth.

At some point in the night she got up and started cooking dinner. Then Percy came running in the door.

"I. Can't. Find. Annabeth."

"Hi."

"What the hell!? Why aren't you home or why didn't you tell me?! Do you know how petrifying it is to get home, expecting to see you on the couch and after I tear the apartment apart I still can't find you?!"

"There was a spider."

"I checked the coffee shops, Hazel and Frank's, Calypso and Leo's, Reyna and Thalia's!"

"Okay, calm down. Percy she's here." There was a slight hint of charm speak in her voice and Jason's back hunched, and Annabeth fell back into the couch as Percy's heart rate slowed. He sat next to Annabeth and kissed her cheek.

"Sorry. I got scared."

"Sorry I left and didn't tell you but there was a spider!"

"Oh." Jason snickered at Annabeth, who stuck her tongue out at him. Piper and Percy rolled their eyes as Percy stood up with Annabeth to leave. "Come on Wise Girl lets go."

When they were walking home Percy pulled Annabeth to the side.

"What?" He cupped her cheek and gave her a kiss.

"I felt weird doing that in front of them in their home." She kissed him again.

"Come lets go home." She took his hand and they walked back to their apartment.

"Where is the little bastard?"

"You mean you didn't kill it when you got home?"

"Oh my bad I should have know that it was a spider that caused my girlfriend to go missing!"

"I'll be up here until you find it." She stood by the counter and motioned to it like he was supposedly know what she wanted. "Help me up!"

"oh." He walked over and lifted her up on the counter and he was on a spider hunt for the next two hours.
