Percy Jackson. The hottest guy in school, just there for the picking. He says he has a girlfriend but come on. You turn everyone down...until now babe. Will it be awkward for our friend group when we start dating though...? I don't know but are they really friends if they get in the way of true love?

Let me make note of the fact that there's no way he can turn me down. I'm literally head cheerleader. Every athlete needs a cheerleader girlfriend, and every cheerleader needs an athletes boyfriend. So me, a cheerleader, him, captain of the swim team, you might be asking 'how are you not already official?' As I mentioned before he's sticking to this whole I already have a girlfriend shpeel. That is until I make my grand gesture, and with my grand gesture he'll have no option but to say yes.

I can see it now...

I'll enter the lunchroom, blaring 'hey there Delilah.' Yes that song, I've heard him hum it to himself before. Anyways... He'll turn in his seat, and be all flustered and cute, I'll walk over to him in my planned outfit and he'll kiss me and we'll be the hottest couple in school. That is because we are the hottest people in the school. Yet another reason we belong together.

So I'm at my locker right? I'm waiting for Percy and the rest of the crew. Oh! And my girls are going to help me with this whole grand gesture its very exciting. I have the yearbook kids coming to take interviews and pictures because lets face it. This will be the relationship that lasts.

"Hey Hales."

"Percy!" I hug him and bask in his ocean scent and the feeling of his strong arms on my hips, holding me close against him.

"How's it going? You seem extra perky today."

"Oh I am Perseus, I am. You'll see why soon."

"Alright. Well I've also got a reason to be happy today." Does he know? Who told him!? They're dead meat I'm saying this now, as a nice way of giving them a chance ti run for the hills before I kill them.

"Why's that?"

"You'll see at lunch." He turns but before he can leave I want one last hug as a friend. All the rest of our hugs will be more loving and meaningful so I figure why not soak up the friendzone for now?

I go to my history class. BORING! Then I head to Greek which I only took to be with Percy, but of course luck wasn't on my side this time and he's in the other advanced Greek class! He looks like a greek god I can tell you that much though. Anyways... there was this new girl, she was kinda pretty but she has nothing on me, sure she has blond hair, but her eyes are scary! After Greek I have English with Percy's stepdad, and well, I can see where Percy gets his charm...

Now, lunch! I shake out my nerves. I don't know what exactly this doubt is in the back of my head but it's definitely there.

"Okay girls, are you ready?"

"Hales... are you sure about this?"

"... Yes."

"You hesitated."

"No I didn't. Now do you have the speaker?"

"Yes. But you're really sure about this? He says he has a girlfriend."

"I know. But when he sees this outfit and hears that I pay attention to him by playing this song he will fall head over heels for me! Now lets do this while there's enough time left in lunch for us to sneak off for some alone time."

In my crop top, and short shorts,(like really slutty versions of these), we burst through the cafeteria doors, blaring the song. The people staring at me and following my path to Percy are giving me the courage I need to do this. I saunter up to him. That girl from my Greek class is sitting next to him and laughing. She's after my Percy, she'll learn her lesson once I kiss him and we run off together.

"Perseus Jackson." He turns to face me, a bit startled. Now that he's facing me I walk over, grab his face and kiss him, trying to get him to open his mouth so he'll know how much I like him, but he keeps his mouth shut, in fact he pushes me off. Probably because he wants to continue this in private. "Hey stud." I sit on his lap, but leans back towards the lunch table as the girl just laughs.

"Seaweed Brain do you want some help?" She asks him. He's red in the face probably from what she just called him.

"Hey, you're in my Greek class right?"

"So?"

"Oh, well I didn't think I had to say this to you, but I'm that 'fake girlfriend' so I'd appreciate it if you'd get off of him." Her words that should have been cowering, sounded angry, almost scaring me. She doesn't know this of course.

"Who even are you?" Percy pushed me off his lap, and into this girl's face.

"Annabeth Chase. Percy's resident girlfriend."

"You're cute."

"Awe you too sweetie." Her voice was laced with venom. If she hadn't been so athletic looking I would have beat her ass but I wasn't so sure if I could take her. I am after all a dainty cheerleader, she looks like she could rip my head off if she really wanted too.

"Hey guys lets not do this?"

"Shut it Percy." Percy stood up and whispered something in her ear and she relaxed. I knew he liked me, he doesn't want me getting hurt!

I run to him. I jump into his arms.

"I knew you liked me too!"

"Hey Hales, I appreciate the whole uhm... thing but I'm really happy with Annabeth, maybe in another life we could have had something but I love Annabeth." He takes her hand and walks away, but not without me hearing Annabeth laughing about that really nice speech he just gave me.

"Maybe in another life? What is that? You absolute Seaweed Brain!"

I just sit down and ignore the pitiful looks I'm getting from my classmates.
