Waking up in Percy's arms had become Annabeth's new guilty pleasure. She's still a little wary of him, not knowing if he'll come back after work, or if he'll get bored of her and her simple domestic life. However, he and Luke have this sort of guy bond that she doesn't mind not being a part of. She does mind when Percy acts like an absolute seaweed brain and makes stupid decisions that Luke would make, but she loves him all the same. She remembers the day she found out he left...

Twelve years ago...

Percy kissed Annabeth as she fell asleep. Was he really about to do this? Its what he's wanted since he stepped foot in the water, but Annabeth is his life now. They want to get married, they want to start a family. He kissed her forehead, and kissed his mom's cheek before starting to really rethink what he was supposed to do. Did he really want to just up and leave everyone? No. Did he want to be a professional swimmer? Yes. He selfishly thought that one day if it was meant to be he'd win her back, but he wasn't sure. Annabeth had been left by so many people, and here he is... doing the same. When he decided he couldn't do that to her, his phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Percy my main man! You excited? Your life is about to begin baby!"

"I-I guess."

"Whats wrong Nemo?"

"I just don't know if its whats best for my family."

"Bah! Your family doesn't matter! Besides if they're really your family they'll understand, they should be persuading you to go, pushing you out the door."

"I just, I don't want to leave them."

"Nemo, we discussed this, we own you now. You signed that contract so as I said we. Own. You."

"Bu-"

"Nope you are contractually obligated to get on that plane and get your fish butt to Cali! You read what'll happen to you, your name, your family, your everything if you don't." Percy sighed, hung his phone up, and kissed Annabeth one last time. She opened her eyes and kissed him back. It turned into more than a kiss... something that would set in stone his reason to come back... A child.

"Where are you going?"

"Shhh Wise Girl I love you, I'll see you soon." He was off to Cali.

Annabeth woke up to an empty bed, not remembering whether or not that interaction between her and Percy was real or not, and a crying Sally.

"Sally whats wrong?"

"He left."

"Who?"

"Percy! He's gone, just... gone."

"D-Do you know w-what happened?" Sally tugged the sweatshirt he left for her on the bed and basked in the beach scent her son naturally eminated.

Present day...

Percy pulled her to his chest and kissed her neck.

"Annabeth, you need to think quieter."

"What?"

"I can literally hear your mind racing, just relax. Its only Saturday." She was happy where she was. She felt like everything that should have happened years and years ago were finally clicking into place. She'd like to say everything happens for a reason and when you step back and look at their situation sure, everything worked out for the best but at the time it really sucked. She remembers that damed day she found out she was pregnant...

Two weeks after Percy left...

Annabeth had been sick since the beginning of the third week without Percy. Thats when the memory of what happened before he left hit her like a truck. The thought only occurred to her after she was researching online if there was some kind of bug going around and entering her symptoms into WebMD when it told her she might be pregnant. Thats when it hit her, so she ran to Sally, who went out and bought tests for her. She waited desperately for the seven minutes to be up.

Present day...

"Annabeth I'm serious, just relax, okay?" He kissed her neck and nibbled her ear, and she melted to his touch. "Whats even on your mind at this hour?"

"Just the past I guess." He kissed her cheek.

"What about the past?"

"I guess I just don't understand how it all happened."

"How what all happened?"

"Like you planning on leaving, how did I not notice you pulling away or the difference in your mannerisms or—" He silenced her with a kiss.

"Lets leave the past behind us?" She nodded and snuggled into his chest. He can't tell her that he didn't want to leave, because if he told her now, she might think he was covering his ass.

"I'm serious what pushed you to leave? Was it something I did? I just want to know so I don't do it again."

"Oh Annabeth my leaving had absolutely nothing to do with you or my love for you, and everything to do with my stupid actions. I was approached before I met you and signed a deal saying that once I was out of high school I was contractually obligated to follow through with this swimming career. Stupid me, once I realized that you were what I wanted I thought I could get out of it if I avoided it, but what they would do to me, to you, to my mom was too awful that I couldn't sit by and let it happen." He kissed the top of her head as she felt guilty. Here she was being pissed at him for leaving when he was protecting her, and the rest of his family.

"Percy I'm so sorry, I feel awful, I was so mad at you for something you had no control over, and you still wanted me back?"

"Honestly Annabeth when will it get through your thick head that you are everything I want and need, there isn't a thing you could do to drive me away?" She held him tighter, holding back tears of guilt and relief. "Its okay, everything is okay now, we're back together living the life we had planned for." If possible she snuggled further into him, and basked in his arms and natural beach aroma. She wished she had a candle of his smell when he was gone. All she had were some sweatshirts he left for her and his mom. She resented the clothing like he couldn't get out of there fast enough he forgot some hoodies.

"You're an idiot, but a sweet idiot and my idiot." They laid in each other's arms, waiting for Luke to come in and jump on them like he does every morning.

"Mom! Dad!" Right on schedule.

"Hey bud." Percy ruffled his matching unruly hair.

"Can we go out for breakfast?" Annabeth looked to Percy for once, like he should make the decision. It made his heart flutter with excitement, and nerves.

"I don't see why not!" Annabeth kissed Luke's cheek and then Percy's, grabbing Luke in her arms as they were one big happy family. Luke fell asleep, happy, and safe in the arms of his parents.

Annabeth turned her head to look at Percy who was holding them all.

"How do you feel about more kids?" Percy chuckled and held her tighter.

"Sounds good to me." They kissed, careful not to wake up Luke.
