38. Meet Percabeth 4

Matthew and Bobby hadn't seen their sister in over two years. They were excited when they heard she was coming home for a weekend. They had so many things to tell her. They joined the basketball team, Matt had a girlfriend for five minutes, and then Bobby had the same girlfriend for ten minutes. Now that theyre twelve they have a better understanding of what a half—blood is, and they find her to be way cooler. So when she showed up with a boy, who seemed as protective of her as they were, they felt threatened. Who is this guy? Does he just get to come and steal her from her brothers? No way. Bobby and Matt are having none of that.

"Hey guys."

"Annabeth!" The boys ran to their sister and tackled her in a hug. They then continued to state at Percy and not so silently judge him.

"Matt, Bobby, this is Percy. He's my—"

"Why is he here?"

"He's my boyfriend." Percy perked up at that. He wrapped an arm around her waist. A churning began in both of their stomachs. They did not like his hand so low on their sister. He seemed like bad news. Look at him. His dark, messy hair, and devilish smile. His face screams troublemaker.

"Boys who's at the door?" Helen called for them. "Oh. Annabeth."

"Hi Mrs. Chase." Percy put a hand out for her to shake.

"Who is this?"

"I—I'm Percy, we met a couple years ago when Annabeth uhm was..." He didn't know if he should finish his sentence because he doesn't know what her brothers know.

"Oh- oh yes. My, you've really..." Annabeth did not want Helen hitting on her boyfriend, she already took her father. She was not about to take Percy. "Matured." Annabeth let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "Please, come in, dinner will be ready in twenty minutes. Annabeth why don't you catch up with your brothers?" Annabeth took Percy's hand and they walked in together.

The twins noticed something off about their sister. Something seemed wrong. Like a part of her was missing.

"Matt."

"Yeah?"

"Does Annabeth seem different to you?"

"Yeah! Like she lost a part of her."

"Do you think it has to do with that Percy guy? Like he wasn't invited. Do you think she's stuck in a
relationship with him?"

"I don't know, she doesn't seem to hate him, she seems to cling to him."

"Maybe because he makes her."

"What can we do?"

"We'll help her tonight. We'll corner the guy, and scare him off."

"Bobby I don't know, what if he's a demigod too, he could probably kill us."

"Not with his dagger didn't Annabeth talk about how her knife can't hurt us?"

"Yeah but what if he can fight hand to hand?"

"He cant possibly take the both of us."

"Yeah, so after dinner?"

"Why not now?"

"I'm hungry."

"Fine. After dinner. We ambush him. Annabeth will be so happy that she'll stay!"🥺☹️

Annabeth and Percy escaped to her room where they could be alone.

"So... how do you think its going?"

"I don't know, but are you going to ask him? Or just tell him?"
