69. Build A Bear [lol]

"Jason come on we have to get to build a bear! Come on come on come on!"
"Dude whats your deal?"
"I need to get to build a bear!"
"Why? Are you a child?"
"So what if I am?"
"Of gods man. How do you have a girlfriend?"
"I'll have you know, she loves me for who I am."
"If you say so. Come on its down this part of the mall." Jason and Percy took the right turn and saw the yellow shop. They could see the stuffing machines, and the clothing for the stuffed animals. "I can't believe I'm spending my Saturday at a build a bear."
"Well believe it buddy."
"Ughhh."
"Come on, lets see, teddy bears, cats... Ooh! Here it is!" He pulled out a dog and went to go do the stuffing. Jason however, went to go buy pretzels since he knew once Percy was done he'd start complaining about the fact that he's hungry or he's tired.

Percy was having trouble getting the mold over the stuffing maker, and was at the point of giving up. He would have but this is important. It's important to him, and the affect will be so worth all this stupidity when its done.
"Excuse me sir, so you need help?" Percy turned and saw who was talking to him. He felt like she was patronizing him but he did need the help.
"That would actually be great thank you."
"Alright lets see what we're working with here." She took the empty stuffed animal and checked it out. "You ripped it."
"Oh. ... Sorry...?"
"Its alright, lets just get you a new one." She winked at him, which made him worried because he loves Annabeth, and this girl is trying to hit on him, even though he's an eighteen year old boy, in a build a bear.

So she dug around in the bins and finally found the same mold to use. He got really excited and wanted to hug the girl. He didn't but still.
"Alright lets get this going." The girl put the mold on, and filled it with the stuffing. "If you want you can sew it shut or we can sew it shut."
"You guys do it, I don't know if its a good idea for me to even know how to sew." She laughed. Maybe a little too energetically.
"ALright... w-whats your name?"
"Percy."
"Cool Percy, I'm Alice."
"Cool, like uh... Alice in wonderland!"
"Yeah!" She ran an index finger up and down his chest, making him effectively uncomfortable.

Jason got back with the pretzels and came over to Percy.
"Hey bro."
"Bro!" They did a bro thing and confused Alice.
"I got pretzels bro!"
"You know me so well bro!"
"They didn't have anything blue. ... except this drink!" He handed Percy a blue slushy and Percy's day got ten times better.
"Bro!!"
"Bro!!"
"—Shut up!"
"Sorry."
"Its fine... who's this cutie pie?" She head nodded towards Jason.
"I'm Jason."
"I'm Penny."
"I thought you said your name is Alice?"
"It is."
"But you just told him Penny."
"Eh same thing isnt it?"
"What? No!"
"Huh... Anyways lets stitch this bad boy up and get you guys going!" Alice/Penny stitched up the toy and asked for a name to put on the collar.
"Max." Percy responded.
"Why Max may I ask?"
"My girlfriend had a dog named max when she was younger."
"Aw dude! You didn't tell me this was for Annabeth!"
"Well it is, so..."
"Whatever lets just get you fully grown adults out of this store."

When Percy got home to his and Annabeth's apartment she was on the couch looking through photos.
"Honey?" She sniffled and looked up and into his sea green eyes.
"Hi." She said it halfheartedly.
"I have something for you!"
"What?" He pulled out the stuffed Doberman and gave it to her. "You remembered?"
"Of course." She tackled him in a hug and let her cry into his neck.
"I love you Percy."
"I love you."
"Clearly." She punched his shoulder.
"You suck but I still love you."
"Cool."
"I really do appreciate you getting me a Max. Today is always a hard day."
"I know, I just thought if you had something that reminded you of him that you could squeeze you might feel like he's always with you." They kissed, and he held her hip as she ran her fingers through his hair.
