72. If she could tell him

Annabeth has been in love with Percy for as long as she's known him. With his black hair that's somehow messy, yet perfect no matter how disarrayed it gets, and his hypnotic sea green eyes, how could she not. He spends all his free time with her.

The only down side to that is she hears all about the girls he dates. Its upsetting to her that she's gotten herself in this position of the friend, and not the girlfriend. She even runs her hands through his hair, and does all the sure tell signs but he either can't see how she feels or he... doesn't want too. He drives her crazy in every way. He plays with her feelings, she's sure of it. He has to know what he's doing. He'll invite her to his cabin, he'll be shirtless, and she just has to accept the fact she can't run her hands over his chest? Thats not fair.

He'll kiss her cheek in specific, special moments, like if she helps him with a homework assignment, he'll kiss her cheek, or she brings him a blue shake, her reward is a kiss on the cheek. Sure he'll hug her, but thats as much as she gets. She'll get all flustered afterwards, and be all red in the face, trying to play off her rapidly beating heart. She prays he didn't hear it or feel it when he hugs her. It makes her want him more that he doesn't show any other real form of affection towards her. She loves the game he must be playing.

Percy has no clue in all honesty of Annabeth feels. Sure she'll let him hug her, and occasionally kiss her cheek but he shut down those feelings long ago when she seemed in love with Luke.

So today when he kissed her for real, she almost died. It happened after he won capture the flag for the blue team, with her plan. She and her cabin detailed out the whole battle plan with Percy as their main guy out on offense. He was so ecstatic that they won that he just flat out kissed her. It was all she could do to just breathe after. She immediately missed him so close, and the taste of his salty lips on hers. She needed to do that again. He could feel just the best tingles on his lips, he wanted it to last longer, but didn't want to scare her.

He was just so caught up in the moment that he had to kiss her. It makes him think about what a great team they are, and what they could do together. If her plan and his athletics, they're perfect for any kind of mission... or quest.

So when she was coming over that night to hang out, he figured whats the worst that could happen if he brought it up?

She knocked on his door, and he opened it with flowers in his hand.
"What are these for?"
"I've been thinking..."
"Yeah?"
"Well uhm... today. After we won, and I k... kissed you- d-did you feel something?"
"I uhm did...n't" She lied. She wasn't ready to let him know how she felt. She had planned on never telling him really. "D-Did you?" He sat next to her.
"I did actually but since you—" She grabbed his face and kissed him. His brain was melting, something about this kiss changed everything. He wasn't just her oblivious friend anymore. He's her oblivious boyfriend now.

He could kiss her all day. Her lips tasted sweet and he was already addicted.
"Marry me?" He smiled goofily as she pulled away.
"You Seaweed Brain." He kissed her again. He tried something more, he put his hand on her waist and pulled her close. He locked her in so they couldn't stop. "Okay Percy, I need to breathe."
"How awesome is this? We're like really good at that."
"Yeah..." She was breathless.
"Maybe we could do this... exclusively?" She bit back her smile. "What do you say?"
"That'd be okay I guess."

A/N: I know its short— I'm honestly running out of ideas so suggestions welcomed. I know mizanur17 gave me an idea I'm just having writers block with it but I'm working on it.
