Percy's hand was slipping just as Annabeth was slipping through his other hand. Before he could heave her up, she slipped right through his fingers. As she fell she looked up to see if Percy was coming after her. She saw him let go, only to get grabbed by Jason. Great timing she thought. He wasn't coming, she couldn't blame him. She could however hear him screaming.

"Let me go! I have to go after her!"

"You're not doing anybody any good if we lose both of you!"

"I can't lose her again!"

"If I survived she is more than capable of doing it too." She hated Nico for keeping him away from her. She cried out in pain as she fell. She cried out for Percy but she knew it was helpless as she fell Nico, Leo, Jason and Frank would hold him back, as strong as Percy is, he can't break the hold of four demigods holding him back. All she could do was pray to Athena for guidance. She finds the Parthenos and this is the thanks she gets? Centaur dung, and she loses Percy again? How many times are they going to get ripped apart? Why? She might as well just die. No. She will make it through whatever awaits her. She'll do it for Percy. She haas her wits and brain power, sure she doesn't have her brute strength, but she'll recuperate.

She has to make it through. She needs to see Percy again. Thats what got her through her mothers stupid quest.

Percy yelled for Annabeth until he lost his voice. He didn't let the Argo II leave until he was at the point of collapse. He needed to get to Annabeth. He needed to be with her. How does he keep losing her? Why must the fates be so cruel? He tried jumping in again and again and Jason would keep going in after him to stop him.

"Jason! Stop it I need to get to her!"

"Dude no! You need to let her close the doors from inside!"

"Let me do it with her!"

"No! We need you here."

"No you don't. I'm nothing without Annabeth!"

"Come on, lets go."

"No!" He sat down like a toddler throwing a tantrum but he needed to go in, just as he was going to jump in one last time the cavern collapsed in on itself. "NOOO! ANNABETH! Do you see what you did?"

"Perce—" Leo put a hand on his shoulder.

"No! This is all of your faults! She's dead because of you guys!" They had to wait for him to tire out to get him back on the ship.
...

When he woke up in his cabin on the ship he immediately was filled with rage. So much so you could hear the pipes shifting. The ocean beneath them churned and... they were flying. Coach Hedge knocked on his door to check on him.

"Go away."

"Ah kid, she'll be fine. You know her, she's resilient." The satyr clipped his way into his room and sat next to Percy on his bed.

"No Coach, she's gone. I had her, lost her, got her back, and lost her for good."

"Kid I wouldn't bet against her."

"I'm not! I'm just being reasonable. Its what Annabeth would do."

"You also know that she would want you to be strong for the team." Percy nodded. Hedge was right. She'll be pissed if she is alive, and found out her just wallowed.

"Fine." He smashed his head back into his pillow and slept. Hedge got up and went back to making sure the cupcakes went to bed.

Of course Percy couldn't have a peaceful sleep. He had to have nightmares. He had to dream about Annabeth.
