A/N: I don't know shel so i did what i wanted with her. Ie; comic relief??? Piper gets used the same—

Percy didn't want to move. He knew he was taking up more than what was considered appropriate of Piper and Shel's couch but Annabeth's legs under his head was everything he wanted.

Percy and Annabeth were at Shel and Piper's new apartment in San Francisco. Annabeth insisted they bring Sally's blue cookies, and who was Percy to deny her anything ever?

Annabeth's hand found his hair, and her nails scraped against his scalp. Just the right amount of pressure, as she got out any of the almost knotted strands. Then suddenly she was gone. She slid out from under him and stood up to greet somebody apparently.

"Connor! I had no clue you were coming!"

"Yeah, Travis said it would be a good chance to talk to get a feel for how you are, so, how are you?"

"I've been good, busy, but good."

"You always were a worker."

Annabeth laughed, tossing her head back the way she does when she's truly enthralled by what's happening. She moved Percy's head so she could stand up and move closer to Connor.

Percy couldn't believe she gave up her spot on the really comfy couch for this. An awkward conversation with an ex, yeesh, wouldn't want to be her right now. .

Percy really didn't want to move but he needed to save her, clearly, as she laughed at what Connor said, hitting him jokingly. Percy's tummy was feeling funny. It gurgled, and hurt. He just felt like he should help her get out of this conversation.

"Beth, Piper wanted to talk to us in the kitchen."

"Tell her she had her chance before she locked us in the living room and wouldn't let us help." Percy rested his head on her shoulder as he let out a heavy breath. "You can check on her if you'd like?"

"What if we send Connor in? He did come alone." She ran her fingers through his hair as she thought about what he said for a whole half of a second.

"We're catching up, Perce, it's been forever since I've seen him."

"And forever since Piper has seen him, too. Con, you'd love to go catch up with Piper."

"Uh, sure, Annabeth, you wanna join?" Connor smirked at Percy.

"Sure, I'll come, I just want to say something to Percy first."

"Alright, I'll, uh,  fix you a drink in the meantime."

"Thanks, Con." Connor disappeared into the kitchen.

"Thanks, Con." Percy mocked her.

"Hey, what's up with you?" Annabeth moved back to Percy's side. He sighed when he felt her against his chest. She futzed with his hair before putting it back the way it was.

"Nothing."

"I know Connor's not your favorite person but—"

"Why do you assume he is what I'm upset about? It's— it's like you want me to be jealous. Is that what you want, Beth? You want me to be this jealous, overprotective boyfriend?"

"Percy." She sighed. "You're adorable."

"And then you go off and say something like that" He crossed his arms, and sighed.

"Like what? Calling you adorable?"

"Yeah." Percy cried out exasperated.

Connor strolled back into the room and sat across from them. He leaned across the table and headed her a red solo cup.
