[Y'all know I can't be mean to my precious Juliet for long. Enjoy the little surprises!]

Colby's POV:

Sitting and waiting for news on my wife was probably the worst torture I'd ever been through.

Sam and Kat entered the waiting room and my best friend asked, "How you doing, man?"

I glanced up at him and shrugged. "Fine."

"Colby, I can tell you're not fine. This is Juliet we're talking about. It's okay if you cry."

I shook my head. "No, I-I have to be strong for her."

Kat shook her head. "No, Colby, you don't. You know Juliet wouldn't want-"

"What? She wouldn't want me to keep my fucking emotions in?! Sam, Kat, if I start crying, I might never stop!"

A new voice caught our attention. "Guys?"

I rushed to my wife and hugged her tightly. "How are you -- I mean -- What'd the doctors -- You were-"

"Colby, can you finish a question?" She held her head, resting another on her stomach.

"When did you wake up?"

"Not long ago. I persuaded the doctor to visit and let you know I was okay. I figured you were freaking out, and I wanted to tell you myself that I was okay."

"That's my stubborn girl. But how are you okay? You were unconscious hours ago."

She shrugged. "No idea. But I heard my mother's voice tell me to wake up. That I had to wake up for you and our daughter. I-I can't explain it, but I knew I had to wake up. And I did. I need to get checked out, but I'll be back, okay?"

She hugged me tightly and I must have squeezed her a little too tightly because she said, "Ow. That hurts."

"Sorry," I apologized before letting her go and resting my forehead on hers.

She walked away and I let out a relieved sigh.

"She's okay," I whispered as my voice got louder. "She's okay. Sam, Kat. Thank you guys for coming."

Sam nodded. "'Course, man. Juliet's our friend, and you shouldn't be alone. Not with something like this."

"I just -- How does all this happen to her and she's always okay?"

"I don't know, but I do know one thing. Your wife is a walking miracle. Literally."

Kat smiled. "She is. I'm glad she's okay, Colby."

"Yeah, me too."

Jules soon returned and took my hand.

She suddenly stepped back and let out a soft gasp.

"What?" I asked. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," she replied quietly. "I just -- I think she moved."

"Moved? What do you mean?"

She laughed. "The baby, silly. Now that I'm about four months, the doctor told me I'd probably feel what she called fluttering, which is early baby movement."

I picked her up and spun her around before setting her down.

Sam and Kat smiled and said in sync, "Congratulations!"

Jules grinned. "Thanks, you guys. This is -- I can't -- It's amazing! Colby, can we get food? I'm starving."

"Sure," I replied. "Where do you want to go?"

She shook her head. "I don't care. Anywhere where I'm with my husband and two of my best friends." She registered her words. "Oh my gosh, that was so cheesy!"

"Babe, I'll take your cheesiness any day."

Though I couldn't see her mouth due to the mask, her eyes brightened and squinted slightly, letting me know she was smiling.

We left the hospital and drove off to find a place to eat. Sam and Kat chose to join us for a double date, something we didn't do often.

Jules settled on Chick-Fil-A, with the promise that she'd get a cookie. After what she'd been through, I honestly would have given her anything.

We got our food and met up with Sam and Kat at a park.

I could probably say it was the best date I'd been on in awhile. Juliet was okay, Ellen was okay and starting to make herself known, and life had been kind once again.

Jules turned to me and smiled. "I love you, Colby."

I kissed her softly and said, "I love you too, Juliet."
