Colby's POV:
I saw a text from Brennen. 'I want to spend the night in the Roosevelt. And maybe do the Ouija board. You down? See if Juliet wants to come'
I walked down the stairs to find my girlfriend sitting at the kitchen table working on something. I waved my hand in front of her face and she looked up. "Mmm?"
"You wanna do an overnight with Brennen?"
"That means Ouija board, right?"
"For us, yeah. For you, camera."
"Sure. Where's the overnight?"
"The Roosevelt."
"Okay, let's do it."
For a moment, I was taken aback. "Wait. It's that easy? I was expecting more arguing."
"Don't need to. Gives us an excuse to leave the house."
"Fair enough."
We got ready and met up with Brennen. When we got to the hotel, he asked if we were ready and Jules and I said no.
Inside, I was nervous about the noises the elevator was making, and a person walked out, scaring me.
Inside our room, Brennen wished the viewers a happy Halloween, and said he and I flock to the haunt and bring Jules along. She looked up from her phone and smiled.
Brennen started discussing what we had brought. The Ouija board and candles, including a communication candle, which could bring something here, which I wasn't keen on.
Brennen told us something that had happened earlier. In the fire extinguisher, he had seen a black figure in the reflection. I jokingly asked if it was a black guy.
He said that he looked behind him and when he looked back, the figure was gone.
Jules frowned. "Someone didn't like you in their room. Or in their hallway, I guess."
Apparently, there was a mirror on the 12th floor where people claim to see Marilyn Monroe. Outside our room, Brennen showed us the fire extinguisher where he had seen the guy.
I thought someone could be fucking with him, but he didn't think so.
We got into the elevator and exited on the 12th floor. While I was holding the camera, Brennen was walking in front of me, and Jules held my hand. We walked to room 1200 before heading back to our room.
We decided to take a detour to room 928, the most haunted room. Something banged on the door and Jules shrieked before running down the hall.
Brennen and I waited for someone to open the door, but no one did. We met up with Jules back at our room, and explained to the viewers what had happened.
We set up the Ouija board and candles and Jules sat on the bed watching us.
Brennen did his creepy Satanic speech and I gave him some crap about the possibility of inviting a demon to us, with the communication candle and all.
We asked a couple questions and got nothing. Brennen then asked what the spirit's favorite room was, and nothing happened. I was suspicious that the communication candle wasn't working.
Brennen asked if something was here with us, and the planchet moved to yes. I asked if the spirit was once a resident at the hotel, and heard a voice before realizing it was people in the hall.
Brennen asked the spirit's name and we heard what sounded like something running down the hall. Jules instantly walked to the door and opened it. "I don't see anyone."
"Oh, shit." Brennen muttered. He then asked what year the spirit had died and it answered 1967.
He thought Marilyn Monroe was around in 1967, so I glanced to my girlfriend and she shook her head. "According to the all-powerful web, she died in 1962. Ask if the spirit is male or female."
Brennen asked if the spirit was bothered about us trying to communicate, and it answered yes. We got suspicious that the other was moving it. Brennen asked if the spirit was male, and the planchet moved to y, and we guessed it could be for yes. Most of the spirits seemed nice; at least the one we were talking to.
He then asked if there were other spirits on the floor with us and how many. There were seven. He asked if they were bad spirits, and the planchet moved to two. Two bad spirits.
I asked if we were safe here and the planchet moved to no. I started feeling hot, and thought it could be that we'd turned off the air. I was also feeling kind of nauseous.
Brennen asked if Marilyn Monroe's spirit died in the hotel and it said yes. He started explaining residual haunting; a spirit does in death what it did in life.
We heard what sounded like a footprint and Brennen asked how many spirits were in the room with us. Two. We asked if the other one was bad, and it said yes. I figured we were talking to the nice one.
Brennen asked if the spirit had been to heaven. Yes. He asked if heaven was like it is in the Bible. I told him they didn't talk about what heaven was like in the Bible and Brennen asked if the spirit had seen Hell. Yes. He asked if it was scary and the planchet moved to yes pretty quickly.
We asked for a sign and I yelled, and we heard a loud knock. My girlfriend fell off the bed and ran over to us. We said goodbye, and Brennen pointed out that this had happened in our room.
We tried to investigate the sound, and Brennen opened a closet, thinking it came from near there.
Brennen was having a weird feeling.
Meanwhile, the nausea overwhelmed me, and I tried to throw up, but couldn't.
I got out, and noticed Jules had attached herself to Brennen. When she saw me, she looked at me with concern, and I tried to reassure her that I'd be okay, and judging from her face, I could still see the worry.
While we were filming Brennen's outro, the TV turned on, and I stood up to look for the remote to find it on the bed.
I asked if Brennen wanted to stay here overnight, and he was willing.
Jules and I were ready to leave at one, so Brennen walked us out and before we walked in the elevator, Jules gave him a tight hug. "Be safe, Brennen. Don't hesitate to call if you need to leave."
He nodded and said, "Thanks, Juliet. Stay safe, okay?"
I took her hand and we walked into the elevator.
Jules leaned against the railing. "I'm terrified for him. What if something happens?"
"If anything happens, Brennen's gonna get the fuck out of there. And you told him to call if something was wrong."
"Yeah, but I don't wanna drive back after that."
"I'll drive, babe. Don't worry about it."
Outside, I tried to call an Uber, but nothing was loading. Jules was having the same problem. I decided we'd walk back to my car at Brennen's to drive home.
Around three, I called Brennen on FaceTime and told him what had happened to us and that I felt like something wanted me to get him. Jules had fallen asleep on my lap. I didn't know how she could fall asleep after all the shit that had happened, but I was glad she was asleep.
