Sam and Colby: Queen Mary's Castle. December 2019

Juliet's POV:

We flew to Scotland for the next Sam and Colby video. We pulled up to Neidpath castle and the boys expressed their thoughts. I was in silent awe.

Sam spoke to the caretaker and the boys teasingly accused him of cheating. I swatted Colby's chest. "You butt."

Sam chuckled before telling us that he'd asked the caretaker of any weird deaths, and she had information to tell us.

She told us this castle was built in the 14th century and another was built in 1102 by the Frasers, but was burnt by the English army. Specifically, Simon Fraser, cousin of William Wallace, was captured, along with others, and hanged.

One-third of the castle collapsed because of the siege.

They had a dungeon, which we were excited to see. Corey asked if there were dragons. There weren't, but there were bats.

Apparently, we could get into the dungeon through an opening. The entrance used to be through a trap door.

The last prisoner, she guessed, was a 14-year-old boy who'd been there, and died there, in 1594.

Jean Douglas also lived in the castle and died in 1750 from a broken heart.

I glanced at Colby. I didn't know if I'd die from a broken heart if I'd lost him, and I didn't want to think about it.

Jean grew sickly and pale and when her husband returned, he didn't recognize her. She'd died on the spot.

Colby squeezed my hand and said softly, "Don't worry. I'll always recognize you."

He then asked if the caretaker had seen Jean personally, but she hadn't.

The caretaker left to do something in the dungeon and Colby expressed the sadness of Jean's situation.

The caretaker soon returned, had possibly opened the trap door, and left.

Since the sun was setting, we made our way to the cottage to settle ourselves.

We walked inside, seeing a reasonably huge area. Oddly enough, it reminded me a little of my home back in Boston.

Corey wanted the pink bed, as did Jake, and then Sam said they'd all be sharing.

I raised my hand. "Count me out. I want my own bed."

We made our way back to the castle after showering and changing.

I slipped on the sweatshirt I'd stolen from Colby awhile back before we walked out.

We entered the castle. Specifically, in the chapel.

Jake wondered if there was a jail and Sam said there was a church and a jail.

Corey wondered if the jail and the church were running at the same time, and we presumed they were.

We walked up a set of stairs and shortly after entering a room, the K-2 went off.

We made our way to a window, realizing it was Jean's, and the K-2 spiked red.

Sam mistakenly said boyfriend and I turned to him. "Husband."

"Right," Sam replied. "Sorry."

We climbed more stairs and the K-2 went off without us touching it.

As soon as we got to the top, we saw someone walking, even though the caretaker said no one would be there.

While the others walked off, Colby and I stayed to see what the woman would do.
