The Final Night at Haunted Queen Mary Castle
We regrouped back in the cottage. Sam and Corey stepped outside.
Jules cuddled into me, fear from the séance evident on her face.
Jake looked at her. "Are demons really that bad to talk to?"
She glared at him. "Yes. They're evil."
"Well, one of your favorite characters is a demon."
"That's a TV show, dipwad. It's a work of fiction. And, by the way, Lucifer is based off a comic series. So, complete work of fiction."
I grabbed my second camera and told the viewers that Corey and Sam had gone out with the dousing rods and they hadn't come back after ten minutes.
Corey had been the one to suggest we stick together.
Jake thought Sam might know something.
I looked at Jake. "What do you think about, like all this spirit stuff? When did you first start, like, believing in this stuff?"
"Queen Mary," Jake replied.
"Queen Mary?"
"Yeah."
"So you a hundred percent think everything's real?"
"Well, I'm always skeptical about everything. Like, I don't think I could ever a hundred percent believe."
"Right, I'm not gonna lie, tonight was insane. I definitely think we talked to something, and, like, we experienced, like, when we were doing the séance and I'll never forget, but at the same time, I wish there was just some sort of clear, hard evidence," I snapped my fingers, "that showed us. You know what I mean?"
"I also wanna know."
"Exactly. Exactly."
"I just try to keep an open mind. What about you, Juliet?"
She poked her head up from the couch. "I used to be skeptical, but after all these investigations we've done, I believe. Especially in demonic forces. Which we talked to during that stupid séance!"
I smiled a little. "Sorry, babe. Least we're safe."
After a moment, I asked, "What's taking them so long?"
I called Sam but he didn't answer.
Jules sat up and slipped on her shoes.
"What are you doing?" Jake wondered.
"Going to find my friends. Duh." She stood up and left the cottage.
Jake and I followed her and we called out after them. "Sam! Corey!"
"What the fuck?" I muttered.
We noticed two flashlights in the distance and figured that had to be them, so we went after them.
As we were running down, the terrain got slippery. I took Juliet's hand, leading her down as we ran, camera in my hand.
We ran down to the river where we'd seen Sam and Corey's flashlights.
We ran up to them as they were walking back and Corey told us he saw the Shadow Man.
I asked where they went and Sam was staring at Corey like he hadn't heard me. I shoved Sam's shoulder and asked, "Where did you go?"
"We tried calling you too," Jake said.
Jules looked at them curiously. "Something serious happened, didn't it?"
