Juliet's POV:

I woke up the next morning feeling numb. I hated waking up feeling like this. It always felt like I was going through the motions.

Colby was already downstairs and looked teary-eyed. "Juliet, you need help, and I can't give it to you. Maybe going back home would do you some good. You always seem happier in Boston."

I narrowed my eyes. "Are you saying we need a break?"

"No, but I think you need to go back home and sort everything out."

"The last time I went home, it was almost over for me."

"I know, but we were there to help."

"Come then."

"Jules, I can't. I have stuff to do."

I pursed my lips. "Fine. I hope you have a good time."

"Don't do that."

"Don't do what?"

"Guilt me." Colby said with a scoff.

"I'm not guilting you. I'm--"

"But you are guilting me, Juliet!"

I ran upstairs and started packing some stuff. Once I was done, I brought my suitcase down and said to Sam, "Are you busy?"

He shook his head. "This evening, yeah. Why?"

"I was wondering if you could drive me to the airport. I mean, I could call an Uber, but I want to be with someone I know right now."

"Sure. I'll take you. Are you gonna say goodbye to Colby?"

I debated for a moment and shook my head. "I can't see him right now."

"Did you guys break up?"

"Not exactly, but we had a pretty big fight, and I can't be around him right now. Please, just, I don't want to talk about him right now."

"Okay. Mind if I play music?"

"Go ahead."

Jon Bellion filled the speakers as soon as the engine was turned on. Sam and I soon started singing along to Hand of God, one of my favorites by him.

When we reached the airport, Sam said, "Text me when you land in Boston."

I gave him a small smile. "I will. And, uh, tell Colby I'll contact him when I'm ready."

"He's gonna go mental, Juliet."

"Yeah, I know."

He sighed and said, "Okay. Will do. Have a safe flight."

"Have a safe drive."

Sam drove off and I walked up to the front desk. "Hi. Do you have a direct flight to Boston?"

The lady looked at her computer and met my eyes. "You're lucky, sweetie. I have two seats available on a direct flight to Boston. But you better hurry."

I bought the ticket and ran to security and breezed through. I ran to the gate and boarded the flight just in time.

Nearly six hours later, the flight landed and I felt a surge of happiness that I hadn't felt in awhile. I was home.

I sent a text to Sam. 'Landed in Boston'

My dad picked me up and asked, "Where do you want to go?"

"I'm kind of hungry."

"Do you want to go to Friendly's?"

"Best idea I've heard in awhile."
