Chapter 56

Cobb Estate: Enchanted Forest

Colby tapped my shoulder. "You wanna come explore a haunted house with us?"

I looked up at him. "Us being who?"

"Me, Sam, Matt and Uncle Elton."

"Absolutively."

He laughed. "Okay. Get ready, 'cause we're leaving in like an hour."

I changed into something warmer and Colby started driving us to Cobb Estate.

Turns out, the estate was in a creepy neighborhood, which I wasn't entirely thrilled about.

Sam said that it used to be someone's mansion.

Elton made the point that there weren't any No Trespassing signs, so the boys wouldn't have to worry about that. Thank goodness. I don't know if I could handle them getting arrested again.

Colby parked the car and asked, "So who's ready for the scariest night of their lives?"

I raised my hand and Matt frowned. "You're crazy, girl."

Sam glanced at me and nodded. "Yeah, she is." He turned to Colby. "Are you not gonna start it with what's up it's Sam and Colby?"

Elton, to my right, said, "What's up, guys? It's Colby and Sam."

Colby was silent for a moment and said, "What's up guys? It's Sam and Colby."

Sam clasped his hands together. "Today, we are here with Elton, Juliet, and MattDangSmith."

"DangMattSmith," I corrected.

"Yeah," Matt said.

Sam continued. "Guess what, guys. The very second, actually, exploring video we ever did, on our channel, was with these guys. Juliet hadn't moved out to LA yet. If you guys don't remember, we got attacked by coyotes. We saw a demonic weird looking face in a cave. It was just a horrible night. So we're bringing the gang back."

"The original," Colby said. "Plus my girlfriend."

"Another Sam and Colby 2.0 video to a haunted, enchanted trail."

"Haunted, enchanted forest," Colby repeated at the same time as Sam. "You said trail, I said enchanted forest. Which one sounds better? I think mine."

"Comment which one you think sounds better," Matt said.

I pat Colby's shoulder. "Yours, most definitely."

Sam continued. "So anyway, guys, this is actually called the Cobb Estate. This used to be some dude's mansion," as Sam spoke, Matt wiggled his finger near Colby's ear, "but there's this giant hiking trail in front of it and we just go up there and see why it was haunted. We don't really know."

"This is gonna be another paranormal investigation video," Colby explained. "So maybe something will happen, maybe something won't. We're just gonna find out. We've heard a lot about this place, we've actually been here before."

"Yes," Sam agreed.

"You wanna talk about that?"

"So about a year ago, Brennen took us up here and pranked us."

Elton had rolled his eyes into the back of his head, only showing the whites, freaking us all out.

Colby continued. "Yes he pranked us, and it was um, terrifying. Scared Jules pretty good. But we never even, like, explored it really. We just kind of walked around and got pranked. So we wanted to come back here and actually explore it."
