Chapter 59

Sam and Colby: Griffith Park

Juliet's POV:

We drove to Griffith Park and before Colby did the intro, Corey started singing about farting.

I pulled down the sleeves of my Bruins jacket, Boston's hockey team, and rolled my eyes.

"What's up, guys, it's Sam and Colby," my boyfriend introduced.

Sam clapped his hands. "Today, we are back with another video with Corey, Jake, and Juliet."

"That was the softest what's up I've ever heard from Colby," Jake said.

"That was 14-year-old Colby," Corey added.

They proceeded to pretend their voices were cracking.

Sam continued. "Like we said in last week's Biltmore video, we're gonna be changing it up today." A car drove past. "God!"

"We're filming," Corey said.

"Instead of doing a haunted hotel, we're gonna be doing a haunted hike. Kind of like the one we did at Cobb Estate."

As Sam talked, Corey walked over to the camera. "Aw, dude, it's a baby bird." He started playing with the microphone.

"Get that out," Colby replied, smacking it down.

Corey rejoined the rest of us as Jake messed with his water bottle. I ignored them, checking my phone for current scores. Boston was ahead with 10:11 left in the first.

Sam and Colby then started jumping on Jake's water bottle that he'd thrown and I picked it up and hit it over Jake's head. "Don't litter."

"We are here at Griffith Park," Sam told the viewers. "I don't know if you've ever heard of that before, but that's where the whole observatory, has the Hollywood sign, has the old abandoned zoo in it. Anyway, this park is huge and it's in the middle of Hollywood."

An elderly couple walked past and Colby whispered, "There's my grandparents."

Colby talked normally. "We're mostly going to this place because it has two very haunted famous tunnels. They're called The Bronson Caves and literally the Batman movie was shot here. Babe, calm down. So, this cave that we're going to is where Batman drove his little Batmobile in."

"It was the original Bat Cave," Sam said.

"It wasn't little," Corey added. "His Batmobile wasn't little."

"Sorry, dude," Colby apologized.

I held a hand up. "And I think one version was built on a '67 Chevy Impala frame. Just a fun fact."

Sam leaned into the camera a moment. "But there's a ton of other stuff that has happened at this location, but we are racing against the sun because this park closes at 12 and we can't be trespassing. We're gonna die and go back to jail. So let's get started."

"Who would win in a race? Us or the sun?" Jake wondered.

Colby thought for a moment. "I think we're faster. Jules is already preparing to go."

"Yeah," Corey agreed.

"Let's prove it," Sam decided.

We walked through the park and Colby walked backwards as Sam said, "We're going to the Bat Cave. Nice marching skills, brethren."

"Thanks, brother," Colby said.

Sam looked at his phone. "So the trail starts on the fire road, easily identified by the red steel gate..."
