Juliet's POV:
What just happened? I got my first boyfriend. That's what just happened. It only took almost 18 years.
Aaron walked up to me and asked, "Did you see a ghost or something?"
"What?"
"You're shaking. Are you okay?"
"Oh. Yeah. I'm fine. Guess what?"
"What?"
"Colby asked me out just now."
He smiled. "Really? It's about time!"
"What's about time?" Corey asked, walking into the kitchen.
"Colby finally made his move."
Corey grinned. "I figured he would. Especially considering how scared he got when the board spelled your name."
"Yeah. I was wondering. Why did it spell my name?"
"I have no idea. My guess is it was a negative spirit that wanted to get to Colby."
"But why me? I wasn't even there."
Corey shrugged. "Honestly, I have no idea how the spirits knew about you, but they clearly have their ways."
"You didn't say anything about me, right?"
"Not until Colby saw your name being spelled."
"I think the fact that it was my nickname is the scariest pa--" I stopped abruptly as I heard a soft moan. "Did one of you guys do that?"
"Do what?" Aaron asked.
"Moan. I heard a soft moan. This house is creepy when you guys aren't here."
Corey gave a small nod. "I bet. It's creepy, at least to me, when we are here."
"I'll say. I'm gonna sleep, cause I got all of an hour because of how worried I was about you guys."
"About Colby." Aaron corrected.
I shrugged. "Fine. Mostly Colby, but the rest of you as well."
I walked up the stairs and made my way to Colby's room. He was passed out on his couch, so I covered him in a blanket and fell asleep on his bed.
The next morning, or rather, afternoon, I saw that Colby had an arm wrapped around my waist and was looking at me. "Hi. How was your sleep?"
"Relaxing. Yours?"
"It was good. I woke up to a blanket covering me."
"That'd be my fault."
"Fault? No, I appreciate it, babe. You don't mind that, do you?"
"Not at all. It's not my preferred, but coming from you, I like it."
"Good to know, baby girl."
"No. Not that. Babe or baby is okay. Baby girl makes me feel like I'm in Fifty Shades of Gray, and I haven't even seen the movie. And never will I."
Colby nodded. "Got it. I'll admit; it did sound weird to say."
"Then why'd you say it?"
"I wanted to try it out." He answered, kissing me. "God, I've wanted to do that for so long."
"Since after New Zealand?"
"Yeah. I wasn't sure how you felt."
"Neither was I. Seemed like we were dancing around the topic for way too long."
