Chapter 108

Juliet's POV:

I woke up feeling nauseous once again. Immediately, I nibbled some ginger candy and felt a little better, but not great.

I made my way downstairs and started making tea for myself.

"Hey, Juliet," a voice said.

I turned to see Kat and Tara and smiled. "Hey. How are you?"

Kat returned my smile. "I'm good. How are you?"

"A little tired, but okay."

"Is it true?" Tara asked.

"Is what true?"

"Are you actually pregnant?"

I nodded. "Yeah, I am. I wasn't sure at first, but now I'm certain."

"I think congratulations is in order."

She and Kat held up their cups and I grabbed my mug of water and we clinked our cups.

"So, are you excited?" Kat questioned.

I nodded. "Yeah, I am, but I'm also really nervous."

"Don't worry. You'll be a great mom, Juliet."

"I just want to be there for everything. High school, marriage, all of the above. My mom wasn't there for it, and I wish she was."

Tara rubbed my arm. "She's looking down on you, Juliet. And she's proud of you."

"Thanks, Tara."

"Sure. Can Kat and I do something to help your mood?"

"You know, I could do for some shopping."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Haven't been to Hot Topic in a bit."

Kat smiled. "Then we'll go. We'll all get ready and leave in about an hour, an hour-and-a-half?"

"Sounds good to me."

My water started boiling and I made my tea.

I went to shower and as soon as I finished, got dressed and started makeup.

Colby appeared behind me and kissed my neck. "Where are you going?"

"Kat, Tara and I are going to do some shopping."

He nodded slowly. "Okay, but remember, you should be more careful."

"I know. I've got a mask and so do the other girls."

"Where are you planning on going?"

"Hot Topic, maybe some grocery shopping, we'll play it by ear."

"You can use the app, can't you?"

"Yeah, I suppose, but I want to be in the store. I've missed the place."

He chuckled. "Yeah, I know you have. Be careful. That's all I ask, okay?"

"Always, Colbs." I kissed his cheek.

"How are you feeling today?"

"I woke up feeling nauseous, but I'm feeling a little better."

"Good. I'm glad. How are you feeling right now?"

"Right now I'm feeling okay. The nausea kind of comes and goes."

There was a knock on the bathroom door and Kat said, "You just about ready?"

"Yeah."

Colby turned to Kat. "Take care of her, okay?"

Kat nodded. "We will. Don't worry."

I left the bathroom and followed Kat down the stairs.

Tara, Kat and I made our way to the closest mall and perused a couple stores before we entered Hot Topic.

I smiled, though it was hidden by my mask. "I missed this place."

Kat laughed. "I'm sure you did. It's only your favorite store, right?"

"No really."

"It is pretty great," Tara agreed.

I browsed the store for a bit and found an All Time Low shirt and got some Supernatural merch, because though it was a show I enjoyed, I had very little merch.

I started feeling a little hungry and checked the time. "You two hungry?"

Kat and Tara nodded and we decided to get Chick-Fil-A. Tara also requested going by Starbucks to get a drink and I agreed.

Starbucks was closer, so we stopped there first. Tara got herself a pink drink, I got tea, as did Kat.

I drove us to Chick-Fil-A next, and we decided to share a 30-piece nugget tray, since we all wanted nuggets. We split the cost and each forked up cash.

Tara suggested going to a park to eat and Kat and I agreed.

I started feeling nauseous again and nibbled a ginger candy, hoping it'd work.

Kat looked at me. "Juliet? Are you okay? We can go home if you need to."

I shook my head. "No, I'm all right. It'll pass."

"Does it really suck that bad?" Tara asked.

"Kind of, yeah. But I manage."

"You're what, a month along?"

"Nearing a month-and-a-half, yeah."

"Well, hopefully the nausea doesn't last too long."

"Yeah, hopefully."

We ate in silence for a little while and made our way back to the house when we'd finished. I wasn't feeling very well, and since I was driving I called the shots. Luckily, it wasn't too far a drive back home.

The second I got inside, I ran to the bathroom and threw up.

When I figured I was done, I washed my hands and laid down.

Colby knelt next to the bed and stroked my hair. "Heard you weren't feeling well. I got you some orange juice and ginger tea."

"Thanks. I'm just gonna rest, okay?"

"Okay." He kissed my forehead. "Feel better, babe."

My eyes closed and I soon fell into a reasonably restful nap.
