[So I know I said Wednesday, but I couldn't wait to post this. You'll still get the normal Wednesday and Saturday updates. 🖤]

April 8, 2020

I glanced at the sky to see a beautiful blue. We'd planned the ceremony at 11 a.m. Hawaii time, six p.m. Boston time. My family was notified, as was Colby's, and they'd cleared their schedules. The pastor from Hillsong Church in Boston was going to be doing the ceremony.

We'd started going because Ma liked it. Even now, my family still went. When I was in Boston, I'd attend with them.

I'd decided I'd curl my hair and do simple makeup. Not as dark as emo makeup, but enough that I looked pretty.

Two hours later, I was ready. I checked the clock and saw that it said 10:30.

There was a knock on my bathroom door and Sam's voice sounded. "Juliet, are you ready?"

"Yeah. But I'm not coming down until shortly before," I replied.

"Well, Colby's downstairs, so you're good to come out."

I opened the door and Sam smiled. "You look beautiful, Juliet."

"Thanks. Uh, is the video chat set up?"

"Yeah. Most of your family is on, Colby's family is on, and we're waiting for the pastor."

"Okay, so we're basically set. How do I look?"

"Like a princess. Colby's gonna fall more head over heels for you."

I laughed softly. "I don't think that's possible."

"I wouldn't be so sure. By the way, I'm walking you down the stairs as your designated chaperone, so I'll hang out here a bit."

"Great. Um, bouquet. I realized I don't have that."

Sam smiled. "Corey's got that covered. He picked some up while he was getting groceries."

"Okay, good. Good. Um, can you help me find my shoe?"

He laughed. "Sure."

After a good couple minutes of searching, we found the shoe.

I slipped it on and Sam checked his phone. "It's five til. We should get downstairs."

Sam took my arm and I saw Jake with a camera at the top of the stairs. He filmed as Sam and I walked down the stairs. Corey handed me the bouquet of white and pink flowers. How he'd found such a beautiful bouquet during the quarantine, I had no idea, but I was incredibly appreciative.

We made our way outside and the instrumental version of Always by Panic! at the Disco started.

I walked down the aisle, keeping my eyes on Colby's face. He smiled widely, seeing me.

Sam let me go as soon as I reached Colby.

"You look like a dream come true," Colby whispered.

"You're not so bad yourself," I whispered back teasingly.

Pastor Jim smiled and began the ceremony. "Before I do the speech, I'd like to read a few verses from the Word. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8a reads, '(4) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it it not proud. (5) It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (6) Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. (7) It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (8a) Love never fails.' Friends and family, we have virtually joined here today to share with Cole and Juliet an important moment in their lives. Throughout their time together, they have seen their love and understanding of each other grow and blossom and now they have decided to live out the rest of their lives as one. Who gives this woman to be wed?"
