Juliet Griffin moves across the country, from Boston to LA, to join a channel of guys doing trips and overnights.
One of them has already fallen for her. Will she reciprocate his feelings? Will they get together?
"The Boston girl is salty." Elton C...
While getting ready to record song/album a pain like no other.
Colby entered the room to get something and said, "Jules, you okay?"
I closed my eyes, shaking my head. "Ellen. I think she's coming."
"Are you sure? It's too early, right?"
"Well, babies can be born early!" The pain hit again and I met my husband's eyes. "We need to get to the hospital. Unless this is faux contractions, she's definitely coming soon."
He nodded. "Okay, uh, Sam and I were gonna do another 25x25, but this is much more important. You get to the car and I'll get the bag."
"Uh, I don't think-"
"You need my help?"
"Yeah, maybe."
"Colby, hey," Sam called. "You ready? What's going on?"
Colby met his friend's eyes. "Juliet's pretty sure she's in labor."
Sam's face brightened. "Oh, my God. Really?"
He nodded. "Yeah, really. Can you help her down to the car while I get the stuff?"
"Yeah, sure."
Sam placed an arm around my shoulders and we walked down the stairs while I breathed out.
As we made our way out to the car, Sam said, "As soon as she's born, let us know."
I nodded. "I will. Is Colby on his way?"
Sam glanced back just as Colby walked out of the house. "Yup, there he is. Good luck, Juliet."
"Thanks."
Colby drove us to the hospital and when we got there, he said, "My wife's pretty sure she's in labor."
I sat in a wheelchair and was taken to a hospital room to await until Ellen was ready to come.
April 12, 12:17 am
Ma, God, please be with me, now.
Colby held my hand and squeezed it. "You can do this, Jules."
I shook my head. "I can't!"
"Yes you can. You've been through so much, and you can fight to keep living each day. I know you can have our little girl."
"Okay, on the next one, you're going to push," the doctor said.
When the next contraction came, I pushed and let out a yell. The one comfort was Colby holding my hand.
What felt like hours later, but was probably a few minutes later, the doctor said, "Congratulations, Mom and Dad."
My baby was handed to me and I held her to my chest, smiling softly. "Hi, Ellen. I'm your mom."
Colby stroked Ellen's head and smiled softly before kissing the top of my head. "You did it. I'm so proud of you, baby."
I glanced at him, seeing tears in his eyes. "Are you crying?"
He wiped his eye and shrugged. "Considering what I'm looking at, my two beautiful girls, there's no shame in it."
"No, there most certainly isn't."
Ellen, because, she'd been born early, was taken to the NICU. I was taken as well, because at least one parent needed to be with her.
As we made our way to the NICU, Colby FaceTimed Sam.
I suppose Sam had told everyone because when he answered, everyone was sitting around, waiting anxiously.
"So?" Sam asked.
Colby smiled. "She's here. Sam, guys, Jules and I have a little girl."
"What'd you name her?" Kat asked. "Did you keep the name you were originally going for?"
I nodded. "We called her Ellen Marie, after my ma. And she shares a birthday with Brendon Urie!"
Tara smiled. "That's such a pretty name. Congrats, guys."
Jake nodded and said, "Congratulations. A Panic! at the Disco reference. Why am I not surprised?"
"Because it's Juliet, Jake."
"Right."
Everyone repeated their congratulations before Colby said, "All right, I'm gonna let you guys go. Jules needs some sleep and to spend time with Ellen, and hopefully they'll let me be with my girls, even if it's for a short while."
Sam waved. "See you later. We want pictures, guys!"
"I'll definitely send some."
Colby ended the call and asked, "How are you feeling, babe?"
I yawned and replied, "Exhausted. Sore."
"I'd expect so after that. Do you want me to tell your family?"
"That'd be great, thanks."
I was wheeled into the NICU and to Ellen's bed. I took her tiny hand and whispered, "You're strong, little one. I can already tell."
As I looked at my little girl, I swore she looked a little like Ma, which was even more of a blessing.
I sent out a Tweet to update my followers: 'In the hospital, everything's ok. But videos will probably slow for the time being. Love you guys. Stay healthy and safe'
Instantly, responses began flooding in as to why I was in the hospital. Most people guessed it was something with the baby, and some even guessed that she'd come early. Little did they know how right they were.
