Colby picked up his bag near the door and turned to me. "You sure you don't wanna come?"

I shook my head. "While I feel better about hotel exploring, I've got a lot of editing and stuff to do. Can't afford to go on ghost hunts tonight."

Colby nodded and kissed me. "Enjoy."

"Stay safe," I replied.

Colby left the room and I resumed the first episode of The Umbrella Academy. I've watched it at least five or six times, and I'm definitely gonna rewatch it until season two comes out.

He periodically texted me, well aware that I might not answer. I did answer some texts, but I was also incredibly focused on my editing. I had about a week's worth of videos to edit, as I always recorded multiple, so I had a lot to do.

Colby sent me some pictures and jokingly said, 'I'd love to get married here'

Periodically, he would joke about places for us to get married. We both knew that we wanted to marry each other, but we were both busy, and neither of us was totally ready.

I would periodically get texts from my friends, saying things such as 'Colby misses you', 'we miss your sarcastic comments', and other such things.

Along the line, I fell asleep with the TV still blaring.

I awoke to silence and someone shaking me.

My eyes shot open and I jumped.

A soft voice said, "Babe, it's just me."

"Oh." I rubbed my eyes. "How was your investigation?"

"It went well. We got freaked, as per usual. How'd your editing go?"

I yawned. "Good. I got a couple videos done and one halfway done. My word, I already need coffee."

He smiled. "I've already gotten the pot going."

"Good. Good. How long have you been back?"

"A few minutes. I came in and you were out. The TV was blaring some fight scene, so I turned it off."

"I appreciate that. I'll probably start the first episode again."

"Again? Jeez, Jules."

I just shrugged. "It's a good show."

"Yeah, it is. Hey, uh, can we watch an episode of Supernatural? I wanna check it out."

I nodded. "Sure. I'm midseason three, but you should really start with the pilot. It'll clarify a lot of things for you."

"Sounds good to me. Coffee's ready. Why don't you set that up and I'll get you your coffee. Cream and sugar?"

"Nah, not today."

"Daring, babe."

Colby got me my coffee and sat down next to me. I played the first episode.

"Lawerence, Kansas, 22 years ago. Huh."

"The show takes place in 2005, so 22 years ago was November 2, 1983. Now, shh."

His eyes widened, seeing Mary burning on the ceiling. "Wait, is she--Did she--?"

I nodded. "Mm-hmm. Mommy's gone."

"And that's the first few minutes?"

"Well, it is a horror show."

"Aw, Sam's got a girlfriend. She seems really sweet."

I kept my eyes glued to the screen. I didn't want to give Colby any indication as to what would happen.

Sam's apartment was broken into and Colby frowned. "Who is that?"

"Just watch."

Dean attacked Sam and pinned him to the ground.

When Dean flirted with Jessica, Colby frowned. "Bro, that's all kinds of messed up. That's your brother's girlfriend."

I chuckled and said in sync with Dean, ""Dad's on a hunting trip. And he hasn't been home in a few days." That's one of my favorite lines."

He glanced at me. "How many seasons are there?"

"Uh, 14. Season 15, the final season, will be airing in October."

"15 seasons?!"

"Yeah. Now shut up and watch. You were the one that suggested it."

A boy decided to take a girl home, despite that he had a girlfriend, and Colby said, "Bro, you're gonna die."

Sure enough, the boy died.

Colby glanced at me. "I see what you mean about not wanting to be in the first five minutes of a Supernatural episode. That shit is scary."

The music started and I started jamming out. Colby gave a slow nod. "This is pretty good stuff."

"Classic rock. A new favorite genre of mine, which will be a nice pleasure to Jack and my dad."

Dean's car got possessed after their fight and they jumped away. Colby laughed, seeing Dean in the water, then smiled at Sam's comment about Dean smelling like a toilet.

They found their dad's motel room and investigated. The next morning, Dean got arrested, leaving Sam to talk to Mr. Welch.

Colby frowned and glanced at me. "Did he cheat?"

I nodded. "That's why his wife's spirit is doing this. Her husband cheated, and she killed her kids before killing herself, thus becoming a Woman in White."

Sam took Constance home and was greeted by her kids. I shuddered as they said, "You've come home to us, Mommy."

As Constance's spirit disappeared, I glanced at Colby. "Mind you, the budget for this show at the time was $20,000, including actors salaries."

"$20,000? Dude. That's insane!"

"I know!"

Dean returned Sam to his apartment and Colby smiled. "Aw, she made him cookies. Babe, why don't you make me cookies?"

I swatted his chest. "You can make them too."

"Yeah, I guess."

Colby leaned closer, seeing blood drip onto Sam's forehead. "No, no, no, no." The camera panned to show Jess on the ceiling and she burned. "No! Juliet, why didn't you tell me?!"

"Spoilers. Now you feel the same way I do."

He frowned at me and turned back to the screen. "Dean saved Sam from the fire again. Wow."

Sam tossed the gun into the Impala's trunk. I held my hands up and said at the same time, ""We got work to do."" I closed the lid at the same time as Sam.

I pointed to the screen. "That is probably my favorite ending to an episode. So, what'd you think?"

He nodded. "I liked it. I kinda like Dean, if I'm being honest, but they're both good-looking."

"They really are, but you're better looking. Frankly, Dean's my favorite too. Continue?"

"Definitely."

We watched Supernatural, ordered food via Postmates, and hung out. We got through about half the season before Colby had fallen asleep.

I paused the episode, turned the TV off, and tucked him in on the couch before returning to my spot next to him. His head dropped onto my shoulder and I rested my head on his, closing my eyes.
