"It's going to be alright", the girl comforted Meadow who was still trying to get herself back to a somewhat normal state. She let a few tears escape before she wiped them away.
"Is it okay if I ask what happened", she questioned and Meadow shrugged. The reason why she was so sad is that Hermione had the nerves to be mean towards Miss Fluffel but why was she so emotional towards a teddy bear. Maybe it was because it was the only thing she owned that had once belonged to her dad. Although the yellow Teddy Bear, Miss Fluffel was something she had owned since she was a baby. The same thing goes for AJ and his yellow duck named Bubbles. For a long time before it had belonged to their father, that he had brought himself and a yellow stuffed animal duck. He had given the duck to her mom and he kept the bear for himself. It was some sort of promise ring that showed how much he had loved her. After...after what happened, it was passed down to Meadow and AJ when they were toddlers and she has been attached to it from that very day. Miss Fluffel was the only thing she owned that had her father's sent on it. The only thing that she owned that would make her imagine how her dad was like. You see, neither of her or AJ had gotten the chance to meet their dad. For more than thirteen years ago was the day when it happened...The day when Atticus senior and Skyler had suspected no danger when everything turned out to the worse. They weren't prepared for it, how could they. They were sleeping out the night when noises came from downstairs. Her mom had rapidly woken up and she ran downstairs not thinking that this was one of her worse mistakes. As she had reached the living room a loud explosion came from upstairs and it started getting warmer and warmer. The explosion had caused a fire to start and the fire spread so fast almost like it was eating the house down. Someone had planned to kill both of them but in all the reports and investigation, the case was stamped as an accident. It was no accident. Somebody had done it.
Meadow's mom had barely made it out since she had refused to leave her soulmate. She had ran all the way up the bedroom, walking through fire and she ignored how much her skin was tearing up. The firefighters had to physically drag her out from there since she had refused to evacuate. Her mom was sent to hospital in a critical condition and the doctors didn't think she would make it. Skyler had third-degree burns and she had inhaled too much smoke, her lungs were not functioning properly either. The doctors wasn't thinking she would make it but for their amusement, she had managed to survive. Their mom was a fighter. They said it was a miracle but Skyler didn't see it in that way. She had woken up in the hospital thinking that everything was a nightmare. She had been in a coma for a week, but she didn't mind that. The first thing she asked the doctors wasn't about what had happened, it was where is Atticus? The answer broke her in pieces.
He hadn't made it out. Once again she had lost someone who she deeply cared about. She couldn't believe it, she thought it was a nightmare and she begged herself to just wake up but it never happened. Her mom needed to stay at the hospital for almost half a year before she was sent to rehabilitation against the overwhelming sorrow. Meadow's mom had been grieving so much that she thought the best option was to just give up. She was going to give up but something stopped her when the doctors told something unbelievable. She was pregnant with twins and they had no damage after the accident. She didn't even know before that but knowing she was bringing life into the world made her see the world a little brighter. A light was shining brighter in the shadows but it was just so unreal and tragic. She didn't have the chance to tell him.
The twins dad had never even had the chance to know about their existence. He died and those two stuffed animals were the only thing they had from him. Or his journals and diaries was something else that the twins had clamped themselves onto. The journals and diaries were at the house they had grown up in. The house that their dad grew up in. It was her mom's house that had ended up in flames. Luckily most of the twins fathers belongings were safe and secure at his place."S-she made fun of Miss Fluffel", Meadow sobbed into the girl's shoulders. It didn't seem like she was bothered by this or like she was confused. It was like she understood exactly what was going on. Meadow was so exhausted and tired of everything and she just wanted things around her to go away. She closed her eyes, trying to find her way down to the safe dream world where nobody could hurt her. It didn't take Meadow seconds before she fell asleep and the girl just glanced down at her. Footsteps were heard and somebody strictly yelling at them got sounded but they placed a finger to their mouth and made the hush sound.
It was Professor McGonagall who looked mad for them being there."Hyperion Noir Astarlinx, what have I said about wandering the hallways at night", she yelled strictly and again Hyperion hushed at her in response. Mcgonagall glanced down at the first year who was sleeping on Hyperions shoulder. She then starred at them for some sort of explanation but Hyperion simply shrugged in response.
"I was getting some fresh air then I heard someone crying and I got here to find this one looking sad and sobbing, then she fell asleep some moments later I sat beside her to figure out what was going on", Hyperion replied in a low voice so they would make sure that they wouldn't wake her up.
"Her name is Meadow Moonshard and she is in Gryffindor and yes I actually paid attention to the sorting ceremony for once", they continued and Mcgonagall softened her look a little before it went back to a mad one."Astarlinx, this walking around the halls at night had happened for two years now. I thought you would stop doing so as I thought you would get more sense as you now are in the third year.", Mcgonagall told and they couldn't help themself from feeling guilty. It was a very bad habit Hyperion had to walk around the hallways at night and it was probably because their common room would be unbearable at times.
"I'm quite disappointed with you and I will take 50 points from Slytherin when the points come since you have hereby managed to get yourself in trouble on the first day. You will also receive detention for your ruthless actions", she continued and Hyperion didn't mind the points or the detention. The only things they cared about at the moment was to make sure that Meadow would get safely back to the Gryffindor dormitories without getting into trouble."Look whatever punishment or points taken for Meadow, I can take them. It's not her fault being here and I can take detention for two weeks if I have to. Just don't give her any trouble, I think she has been through enough already", they muttered before they turned around and lifted Meadow up, holding her in their arms before they stood up. Meadow was slightly snoring into Hyperions shoulder. Hyperion didn't mind at all and it looked like Mcgonagall was glad at the moment.
"No, she wouldn't receive any detention or no points will be taken from Gryffindor. Like you said I think she has been through enough as it seems like", Mcgonagall softly replied and they nodded in response.
"Could you do me a favour and let me into the Gryffindor common room so I can place this one, where she belongs", they asked in hesitation before they bent down to pick up the teddy bear who was laying on the ground. Mcgonagall was rather annoyed by this but it seemed like the best option. If she would take Moonshard herself then it may be a risk for waking up the first year. Mcgonagall nodded before she leads the way up the stairs towards the Gryffindor dormitories. Meadow was still deep asleep in Hyperions arms as they reached the top of the staircases. The fat lady didn't ask for the password when she spotted Professor Mcgonagall. Hyperion found themself into the common room although they were having a hard time getting through the entrance with the first year in their arms.
The common room was empty and they didn't bear to think about walking into the rooms. They walked to a long scarlet couch that was in front of the fireplace and they carefully placed Meadow there. Meadow grunted slightly, mumbling about where Miss Fluffel was and Hyperion gave her the teddy bear in response. Meadow took her bear before she turned around on the couch, falling back into the dream world. Hyperion found a blanket laying on an armchair and she softly tugged Meadow into the blanket. They glanced at her for a moment before she walked out from the Gryffindor room to find Mcgonagall waiting patiently."I will escort you to the Slytherin dormitories because if I don't I'm quite sure you will get lost", Mcgonagall replied before she gently took Hyperions arm and then began walking down to their dorm.
