Chapter 35 Terror Night

It had been a month and the snow was dancing around the sky and falling down graciously and it looked like a cold wonderland. The fullmoon wasn't such a struggle this time but the twins still locked themselves up just in case they had an urge to tear someone's head off for the tiniest things. Meadow hadn't spoken to Rio ever since that time in Dumbledore office and she wanted so badly to forgive them but every time she thought about meeting them face to face, it ended up with her replaying the memories she wanted to forget. She knew it was unfair to Hyperion because they couldn't have known that she would react in that way but Meadow struggled with forgiveness and she had problems with it ever since she was a kid.

Nyx had been getting a little vaguer lately for each day that came closer towards Christmas and whenever it wasn't classes he would stay in bed. He was a completely different person and both AJ and Tycho was getting worried for him. Nyx barely had the energy to do anything and if it wasn't for his friends he would have failed every class because he hadn't done any of his homework but luckily AJ and Tycho took turns by doing them for him. Something was definitely wrong with Nyx and his friends had begged him to speak with Madam Pomfrey but he had refused and it would normally bring him in a gloomier mood.

"Okay, I'm starting to get really distressed about Nyx and I don't know what to do or what's going on. He doesn't want to talk to us and he hasn't eaten anything in days or moved an inch besides from classes. He's just laying in bed all day and I'm worried that something is terribly wrong with him", Tycho explained nearly in a tremulous voice.

"You're not the only one being anxious about him but I'm worried for my sister as well. Is it just me or have she been avoiding Rio lately", AJ said bluntly since he missed the times when the whole gang was together. Meadow hadn't spent a lot of time in the library anymore and if Rio came she would come up with an excuse and leave from the scene.

"She has indeed but I'm not worried about that. Nyx is more important and no offence but he is getting worse if you haven't noticed", he claimed frustrated and AJ nodded. He was right though because it was more important to get Nyx in a better state.

"I have a plan. We try and talk to him one more time and if he doesn't tell us what's wrong we have to get him to the hospital wing, even if we have to carry him there", he replied determined and he slammed his hands on the table. Enough was enough, Nyx needed help and he was going to get it.

"Yes, there's the spirit, c'mon chop let's go", Tycho said as he stood up and clapped his hands in a hurry.

The Ravenclaw dormitory was empty like it normally was in the afternoon and that was perfect for interrogating their best friend. Nyx was laying in his bed on his side and he was glancing out the window, which he had been doing all day lately.

"Nyx, we have to talk okay!", Tycho yelled a little harsh and Nyx grunted before he turned around.

"Don't raise your voice at me", Nyx said nearly in a whisper. AJ sat on his bed, resting his hands on his knees and the same thing did Tycho beside him. Nyx didn't look like his bright self and they could barely recognise him. Something was wrong but what could it possibly be.

"Please, speak to us. We just want to help you but we can't do that if we don't know what's troubling you and we hate to see you like this", AJ asseverated in his most soft voice he found.
Silent fell over the room and AJ tried to pick up chemosignals of any emotion but all he got was tiredness, sorrow and aggression.

"I...I just don't want to go home for the holidays", Nyx mumbled weakly and Tycho tilted his head. For once his close friend has finally said something about what's has been hovering over his head like a storm cloud.

"Nyx, does this have anything to do with your foster guardian?", Tycho asked softly and he felt anger building up inside his stomach. Nyx hadn't spoken much about his home situation and whenever someone asked he would switch the subject or just come up with an excuse to leave.
Neither AJ nor Tycho expected it but Nyx nodded after a while.
