Chapter 60 Together

"You didn't read the note did you?", Meadow asked as they found their way down the stairs and she was holding arms with Nyx and if he had to decide which people was the best to walk the stairs with, he would say Meadow or AJ because they didn't bother how much you would squeeze their arm.

"I absolutely did", Nyx replied lying and this time she didn't need to listen to find out that he was lying.

"No you didn't because if you did you would know that I asked you to send Nikisha back with a reply in the next ten minutes or I would find you myself", she retorted giggling a bit.

"But that's the thing, I did read the note and I didn't reply because if my conversation with my roommates would get awkward I would have a reason to leave", he told managing to have a serious face. Had he read the note? No, he didn't get the chance to.

"Aha, sounds about right but anyways we are going to Snape's", she muttered and Nyx frowned. Snape didn't like him much and he had been giving Nyx a hard time ever since he fell asleep in his class.

"But why can we not join the others and wander around the forbidden forest" he complained which caused Meadow to roll her eyes. Snape was kind to her, treated her fine and if she had detention with him, it would end with another one being wasted to talking about whatever they could come up with. But if Nyx joined, Snape could switch behaviours so he might turn cold again or what if Nyx would be stuck in an awkward position.

"Okay you can decide where we want to go", Meadow said optimistically. She didn't want to be walking around in the forbidden forest after the meeting she and AJ had with some centaurs. Apparently, they weren't that friendly as they thought and they didn't like the company of some werewolves since somehow they knew.

They met with the others in a hallway and Filch was glaring widely at Meadow like it was the best thing that ever could happen.
Harry spotted her and he walked next to Meadow and Nyx frowned.

"How did you end here?", he asked and Meadow had to hold Nyx on his spot because it seemed as he was going to tackle Harry to the ground.

"Filch hates me that's why and if he accidentally calls me Mr sometime just ignore him, he has probably gotten enough to drink", she replied platonically and Nyx scuffed. How could anyone hate Meadow?

"And you Acheron?", Draco questioned sweeping in and pushing Harry to the side.

"Who's Acheron?", Harry blurted out confused and Nyx face palmed himself.

"How stupid are you?", Draco teased and this made Harry walk back to where Hermione was, further down the hall.

"Malfoy could say that it was nice to see you but my mother didn't raise me as a liar", Meadow told swiftly, keeping her nose up in the air.

"Well, at least you got raised by one while some others, have to live as a bratty orphan. Father told me all about the Adhills and I'm still shocked that you don't use that as your last name. It would be an honour to bear the name of such a strong pure-blood wizarding family but well you just waste it and replaces it with some name that sounds like someone choking", Malfoy snared and now it was Nyx's time to hold back Meadow which was close to tearing off that pretty blonde head of his.

"Draco, I'm sorry for that but trust me if you lived with the Adhills you would say something else in the next second", Nyx replied bravery. Draco had been grinning until this moment because his father didn't only tell about how many great things the Adhills had achieved but he told about their ways of raising Nyx and Draco didn't want to be, but he was slightly worried over Nyx. If those things had happened to him, he would be traumatised.

"Okay...I'm sorry for what I said since I know what they have done and I just wanted to say that I could never be as strong and brave as you", he told casually. Meadow didn't understand what had come out of Draco's mouth because he seemed exactly like a bully and nothing more.
